Hi all, I have recently been in Auckland and went and had a look at Shed 5. After seeing those bikes I decided I wanted one so as soon as I got home I was on Trademe! After a few weeks looking I bought a Cb250T off some guy for $400. The bike has been off the road for a while but everything works as it should so it will be a good project. I reckon it looks pretty ugly stock so I'm going to try make it look better, well that's my plan

Not sure if the photo's worked but the first one is of when I got it and the next one of how it sits now. The rear shock mounts will be cut off this week and new plates welded in which will look a lot cleaner. Also bike is now stripped as of tonight so hopefully sand blasting will happen soon along with paint.

Cheers
James

That's a nice old bike. I've just bought an '88 GB250 - first bike I've owned, and signed up here (first post). I'm working towards a cafe racer style (clip on bars, mirrors, new lights and fabricated seat cowl next).

Are you dropping the back on your bike, bobber style or going for a cafe look? Youtube "cafe racer tv" if you're looking for some inspiration.

Just make sure you get the welding certified ... otherwise WOF time may not happen. Is the rego on hold, or will need re-vin ???

If you don't really like the look of the bike stock is it worth spending all the time and money to get it road legal when you could spend less money on a bike you prefer the looks of that's already road legal?

Having said that though I haven't had a project before so maybe you enjoy the build

All the best and hope it turns out well!

Cheers guys, this is my first ever bike but I am pretty much copying 'much much go'. Google it if you haven't seen before. I have always been into VW's but after I saw that bike I really wanted one haha. I pretty much went on Trademe and bought one as soon as I saw it.
I have a thread going under modifying motorbikes if anyone is interested, CB250T.
