Are there any rides happening this Saturday 26/11 ?
Can't say why, but apparently it's important that YT and I be in LH over the w/e. :innocent:
We be in the car :shit: but I can throw my gear in and I'm reliably informed that a bike (or two - for choice) will be available to me :niceone:
Not looking for a race (borrowed bike and all that) but I'm not averse to getting out of first gear either....

Although seriously its not a place to be silly these days - too much traffic and cyclists.... but a nice ride all the same if you want a short outing....

I used to ride that hill back when it was not patrolled, had little-to-no traffic and I had a near-new T500. Then I took a Norton-riding mate pillion on a hot CB500/4. He swore at me...
Wouldn't want to ride it like that now. But I kinda miss those days...

Small goods is a generic term
Several hours might see me out - like I pm'd I have a few other options ;-) Interesting means the Wairarapa and I think the local kids can point you in the right direction :innocent: The rest of the place is duller than a winter weekend in a dunedin student flat thats not paid the power bill and run out of chairs to burn....

No reason why there can't be something for everyone. Do it all, or join/leave as suits.
I had a loose plan developing that went along the lines of...
Paekak-Waikanae-Akas-Takas-Martinborough-?? Don't really know off the main drag in the 'rapa.
Just need to time things to avoid the poker run.

If riders are comfortable at the speed limit, that's all that's important. As I said, I'm not interested in a balls-out ride - I'm on a borrowed bike for a start.
I'm happy to give tips and such like to anyone that wants them.

Is the Duckpond carpark at Avalon a good place to meet? And what about a time that suits most?

That is going to depend on what time you arrive in wellie and when you are free?
I'd suggest no too early as drizzle is forecast 1st thing plus you will have a hangover ;-)

To be fair - I did warn you :innocent: That roads a shocker at times - a couple of times its been the only option to get back up the coast due to bad weather and accidents so imagine what its like at night in the pissing rain! FUN! Still, I'll bet the ride back to LH was a goodie as it was a bonza day?
After you guys left we finished putting up lights n stuff (can now see our lounge from Mars) and then did a bunch of dumb boy stuff (much to Vickis rolling of eyeballs) with the grand sons..... Those little green plums that blew off the tree make fantastic slingshot ammo)
Happy days and you guys are welcome anytime!
