The trusty XJR's going to need a pair shortly. The funny thing is the back's knocking on heaven's door and the front's only getting there...
Any brand reccomendations? Between the jigs and the reels, I haven't bought a pair of bike tyres in about three years so my virginity's after growing back:facepalm:
EDIT: It may be worth mentioning I'm in Auckland, too.

If it were me I'd go to Cycletreads on Barrys Point Rd, Takapuna.
As for brand....well, as a longtime happy Michelin rider, Pilot Road 3 will cover all but the hardest riding styles. Funny looking tyre at first, but sweet to ride on.

Step 1: Ring Drury Performance Centre, ask what he's got and how much they'll set you back,
Step 2: Ring around everywhere else
Step 3: go to Drury Performance Centre
Might seem a bit out of the way, but just consider by the time you get home the new tyres are scrubbed in ready for a proper ride.

And you can swing round via Kaiaua on the way home too!

What he said! Got Pilot 3s on both ends two weekends ago and love them. Had a downpour two days after I got them and they handled the rain beautifully. Thoroughly recommended wherever you get them from.

I've had PR3s on front and back for the last month. In my opinion they are softer on the outsides than the PR2. I got almost 20,000km from my rear PR2 will wait and see what the PR3 gives me.

I would say Cycletreads or Drury Performance centre. Both good places with good guys.
I got 2 new tyres yesterday from Cycletreads  I had a chunk of rubber missing off my back tyre. Had a free coffee and got a free dvd :Punk:
Thank god for secret stash of emergency cash!!!!!! Nice guys and great service.

Yep you'd be right. On PR2s I got around 18000 clicks from the rear, by which time the front was done as well due to cupping.
The current set of PR3s is about to come off, at around 12000 clicks. Definitely a softer tyre, but still a good compromise between wet grip and life.
Which tyre outlet? Oh, prices would be much of a muchness, convenience becomes part of the equation...

Hey I had no idea I was so close to motorcycle central!! I called in to CT and Scott gave me a price of $500 for a PR1 rear and a PR2 front fitted. I had PR1s on my Busa fitted by the previous owner and barely scrubbed then in after a couple of 000 k's. So I would definitely have them again.
The other side of it is that Scott said he'd mount the tyres on an evening and let me take the wheels home to refurbish them and refit them the following morning. That'll be another couple of jobs off the list. As it happens, I'm going to need those tyres ASAP. The back was more shot than I thought.
Thanks for the help guys 'n' gals.
