Count me in.

And as a non wheelier, I'm more than happy to stand by the pit wall and watch the other lads giving it a go.

Keep the wheelie session on I say.

Cheers

Thanks again Chris for a good format :Punk: . I sure will do what I can to make the September day and I know some others keen to return. I think you will find most riders got enough track time as it was (knackered by day's end). So as for the wheelie session I think the break was welcomed, but hey I would say that. My avatar sums that up. Hard yacker pulling in from the wheelie session to go straight back out for the next ride session.
Where was the hot drinks dispenser? It was cold you know.

[ I am not sure whether to keep the after lunch wheelie session. It did provide some entertainment for 20 minutes, but would those who did not take part rather have extra track time? Feedback is appreciated.]
I pm'd ya my suggestions Chris

I guess that I don't qualify as the special guest then.

Yeah I'm in. That last effort was primo. Keep the wheelie session as it breaks the day up and encourages normal folk to act like goons. Ray volunteering his time again is a bonus. It's bloody great that guys like Clee and Bernard take time out to come down and watch us lot wobble around the track.

Suppose I'd better order my K5 1000 soon so it arrives in time for the 4th.

Frosty email me a entry form theres a good lad.

Will have my video camera there again to tape on to any bike that wants some footage of the track...and the sky if they can wheelie ;)

I'd definantly be keen. I'm slowly building a bike for racing but that's a wee way off, is there any track time where I could just take on my normal bike without perhaps thrashing it ( What I mean is do people get p1ssed off at slower riders )

There are three categories of rider, so you could start in novice and see how it goes ?

I'd like to see you *not* thrash it after a few laps though...

Yup. I'm in for this puppy. New paint job and all.

Keep the wheelie session, Chris. If people know there's going to be a "show off" session during the day, they're less likely to stunt it up during track sessions. I know from other KBers it makes the non wheeliers feel inadequit and small peckered when we wheelie past them.

Can I have an entry form, either from you Chris or that Frosty fellah?

(Oh yeah, Tony? Do you ever want your van back or can I keep it?)

i think you would get your ass kicked on a 250, even in the slow group, majority of bikes on six hundreds up wards.

i hate it when cunts ride slow in front of me, so i show the courtesy of not putting others through it, which is what you would be doing if you..... especially when people have paid to race. reason i didnt go out on saturday.
AHH BOLLOX MIKEY --There were people in the slow group I was lapping--and in some cases well more than once -and they were on 600or bigger bikes.
there are 3 straights well long enough to get past a slower rider easily and safely
Don't lwet having a slow bike put ya off.I was on a slow as a wet week XJ900 and still had a ball

Once you understand that you have more than 1 gear, you might be surprised at how fast your bike could be. :devil2:

ill still be holding other people up an feel obliged to move out of there way, if i was on a CBR1000 doing max speed down a straight i would be screaming green red an blue murder if there was someone on a 250 ruining my line into the corner, possibly sending me off the track to avoid hitting him, wouldn you?

if someone is on a cbr1000 and is screaming down the strait and still cant get past you on a 250 then there is something wrong with them. there are heaps of places to pass.

if your not confident on the track just go in the slower group and dont worrie about other people. just hold your lines and faster riders will move around you.
the accidents happen when slow riders try and move out the way of the faster people and get hit from behind.

im slow but i still go out. if someone cant get past me then its there prob.

its all about having fun dude.

Mikey--pull ya head in sunshine.
Trust ol frosty here --a two fiddy or for that matter a FXR150 will be fine on the track day.
I'm 100% certain that faster riders will find space to get past you --even inexperienced fast riders.
Just the same as the taupo track day except there are 3 straights to pass on not just one. I came up behind guys a shit load slower than me a heap of times and it only slowed me down for one corner maybee two.

JohnBoy
20th July 2005, 18:45
Milky.. the best advice i was ever given on track days was to remove my mirrors. the idea being to concentrate on riding your self... let the others pass you. remember, its not a race and hopefully no one will try and stuff it underneith you into a corner or anything.

I think you're missing the point mikey.

It is not a race and if you were doing max speed on a ride day and someone on a 250 was "one your line" and you binned it trying to avoid him/her... it would be your fault not theirs.

If it was a race then you wouldn't be in the same class as someone on a 250.

This is a ride day which is something completely different from a race.

FWIW I got Mikey all wrong the first couple of posts he made. Then I met him. His online persona couldn't be more at odds with his real life one.

After a couple more posts that made me go, "What the?" I realised that most of the time he's just taking the mi(c)key, albeit in a twisted deviant way.

I've had some long chats with him and he's OK in my book, and I seriously doubt that he would give anybody any grief face to face. He's visited people in hospital, and made efforts to participate in memorial rides.

He's just "Mikey" online unfortunately. ;)

Would you consider lifting the ban order if we ask nicely and vouch for his actual character?

I agree with the posts above -It is unfortunate that the member in question has a really REALLY bad case of foot in mouth desease.
Jim ol son --read what was posted--it was pretty nasty

It was just Mikey. I have read it, and what us "old" people are forgetting is the difference in how we view this communication medium and how Mikey's generation does. It's just a gormless pisstake with no subtlety or wit, but Mikey'll grow that, I'm sure.

I think that it's gone too far in both directions, but there's no willingness to be the bigger man from KR's perspective. Mikey at least had a go at the end to point out the bits he considered jokes.

The lesson must be taught at all costs by the looks of it.

Big Dave

Thank you Jim for the kind words. But I'm with Chris.

FWIW I would never type anything here that I wouldn't say to someone's face. This is completely different to other forums I'm on - the people are not anonymous squiggles on a phosphor screen, but real people - some of whom I'm likely to meet on Sunday.
Your mate Mikey made veiled threats and 'shouted' obscenities at a workmate and mate.

Your loss and ours.

I have got to know Mikey and thinks he's not a bad bloke.

But dammit Mikey....slagging off the organiser who is giving us the opportunity for some track time is not in my books the correct way to go about things....I have to say I'm with Chris on this one.

Members who know Mikey understand the wise cracks he dishes out and it's water off a ducks back, but Mikey you'll have to learn when to do it and to whom.

Seems to me from reading the whole thread that ol' Mikey didn't start with his typical insults untill after he'd been told not to turn up. He was just voicing opinions and concerns in his usual garbled way.

Bit heavy handed I would'a thought, but then, it's not my BBQ.

NC
27th July 2005, 16:52
He's rude, offensive, obnoxious and hopes to run me over some day when I am crossing the road. Yeh, he's great alright. Put yourselves in my shoes. Kiwi rider are running some track days, not to make shit loads of money (you can't at track days) but as a PR exercise for the mag. We are trying to create a friendly fun atmosphere. You then get some mouthy little shit having a go and stating how much of a danger he would be. Would you let him ride at your track days?
I'm sorry Mikey, it's your own fault.

I understand what your saying he's a little cunt, BUT not in person ( all the time), he is really a good bugger. I was in your shoes, I wanted to give him a biff behind the ears, in fact if I tried I could find the post where I threatened him. Then I met him, he's funny and a good sort with a sensitive side. Once you meet him I'm sure you'll like him. And just because you have banned him from racing on the track it doesn't mean he can't turn up? I dunno!

i am old enough to know when i am being a cock. im just not senile enough yet to stop being one.

your decision to not let me enter after my 4 posts was not a fair call but as its been said, its your party you choose who comes.

i think you misinterpreted my first 4 posts to mean i rode a big bike an didnt want small bikes on the track holding me up. that is the only reason i can think of as to why you would not let me in.
you'll probably never give the reason. so waste of time.

anyone who knows me a little knows i am not the hugest toughest cunt on the block and my insults/threats have little behind them most of time. which is probably why so many people have said im not that bad, an give me a go.
