Got a mates 90 CR125 to sell.
Its been sitting in his shed for a while now, and it has just been dragged out and coaxed back into life (goes well)
Was hoping the KB crew could advise of a good sell price for this beast.
Obviously it needs some TLC etc but just thought I would seek some advice regarding sell price from the KB Dirt bike crew.

Why does the exhaust look like a dead fish? :\
lol...possibly due to it being 21yrs old (but yes...it was the first thing I noticed to...its buggered! so it will require a new exhaust)

At that age I doubt it would be worth fitting a new one, just chuck some water in it, and in the freezer, pop out the main dents, weld up any cracks, will be all good!

Yeah not too much I'm afraid. Shame it isnt 5 years older and vmx eligable. That would put the price up to $1200 ish.
Not too sure its a 1990 either, looks as though its had a coat of paint to disguise the 1988 or 89 colour scheme. Strangely a pre 1990 bike may be woth a bit more in a year or two as the vintage MX boys will eventually end up with a pre 90 class like the rest of the world has done...
If its still there (possible painted over now) honda usually have a plate on the headstock with the model year on...
Whats it worth? - depending on overall condition, but with the shonky respray, knackered pipe and tyres, then assuming a few bearings, C+S, pads, piston and rings, as a basic list then the chance of more serious like main bearings, rebore, shock service I reckon 5 hundy absolute tops...
With a most of those things checked out and OK, maybe $750 on a very good day, for someone who has been looking for that particular model...
Still a competitive club bike in the right hands though, so maybe spend a few $$$ and ride the thing:yes:
Hope that helps

I had a 88 and a 89 CR125 back when they were new.....awesome bikes would like to relive my past one day when they are vmx eligible. Anyway, that bike definately looks like a 1990 model to me. 88 had a high boy pipe rwu forks and 89 had a red frame and red shock spring, and plastics were more blood red in colour too. 90 had the white frame. Good luck with the sale.
