A good day...
The new toy finaly got here...
I managed to keep it togeather long
enough to put 20k on it... Being a short
leg version .. I desided I need to make a
set of lowering links... looks if I drop it 50mm
and build a 2 into 1 high pipe the ground
clearance will stay the same...
They are the first projects...
So wheres the ride this week end :woohoo:

For after market pipes.. its silent... They are factory Yamaha pipes..
or made for them..... GY-TR ... " Genuine Yamaha Technology Racing"..
Its also got K&N filters internal & external... the right side of the air
box is replaced with a K&N filter sreen....hope its high enough for deep rivers..
No fuel tap .. just a fuel warnning light..
But theres a lot of very exspensive brakeable looking bits on it...

Mate, well done on a nice looking bike! I'm bringing my Africa down for Xmas and New Year - I'd be keen for a ride up Mt Pat if you're interested & around? Coming over on Weds night before Xmas and heading home ~6 Jan.

Water pump is definitely vulnerable. Givi makes nice engine bars that protect cases and the water pump. Off-the-Road makes a smaller unit that just protects the water pump.
You might want to consider a PowerCommander to improve the fuelling.

Case bars & skid plate are on my projects list...Got to get the pipes out of the way first...
I have built a set of lowering links.. Now 50mm lower..had to shorten the side stand..kept
trying to fall over...
As for the power commander... I found this thing tucked away under the seat...

Nice Bike mate.. but I'm bias because it was my old bike .. I've just give Ben, previous owner some info on that knob under the seat.. check out the link below for more details.. it's called the 'Kevs fuel mod' and basically tricks the ecu into thinking the air temp is slightly cooler then it is, thus enriching the fuel air mix.. there are some vids on Youtube that show you (link below).. You can enter diag mode on the ecu to adjust it.. it was set about 8 degree cooler then standard.. by the way that surge you might feel at low speed is a curse with those machines.. I had hoped the slip ons and fuel mod would smooth it out more...

Enjoy the ride.. i pretty much started it's likd going up and down the tar sealed motorway between Upper Hutt and Wellington.
Cheers

Hi..
Thanks...
Now know it isn't a back shed job...
I can live with the sergeing ..not used for commuting..
It goes well ..apart from the vibration though the pegs.
A good screen a must at road speeds...
