IT'S CONFIRMED!
11/12/2011
Rough Outline: (we all know this doesn't quite go to schedule haha)
Sign On - 8:00am
Scrutineering - 8:00am to 8:45am
Riders Briefing - 8:50am
On track - 9:00am onwards
We have a few people to thank for making this happen, and it's the usual guys who step forward once again. Skunk and Clive will be involved in running this event and we all owe them big time!! Don't worry about pre entries (or pre pay) but please let me know if you are showing up. To speed things up, print off the entry form and bring it to the track. The entry form is attached to this post. I might shit myself if no one shows up for this!
Any questions, please ask. This will be a little different to the typical race meetings, a couple of different types of fun races hopefully (as well as some of the normal fairing bashing ones). If you have been to the Easter Kaitoke buckets, this will be similar enough and with any luck it will be sunnier.

Good onya for initiating this Hamish. I'm not sure if I'm Clerking or Stewarding, Skunk will let me know. We at VMCC need more of our members bothering to get MNZ qualified so the load can be shared around peeps.

Good grief, there's a name I haven't seen on KB for a while.
Crumbs Jimmy gets dizzy at a Bucket meet & goes loco building a bike, then all sorts of undesirables start turning up:laugh:.
Well hopefully I'll have my bike all sorted & be able to come puff those sad old 4 bangers into the weeds.

This is true.
I've put a bigger main jet in Rangi so will be testing that out in C grade and helping out where I can.

oOOOh C grade. I like C grade. (F5 is our C grade, and I definitely ride that more than B grade, hence the 100 clocking up the hours).
Have a great ride Trudes and I hope to hear you've got a smile on your face and not thinking about getting rid of Rangi. I'd also like to hear you relaxed and didn't do flagging as well as sign-on. Hmmm, lots of expectations from me. (I do enjoy flagging and watching the lines people are taking and don't do it nearly enough at away meets, but too busy just watching the whole race lol).

9th December 2011, 08:33
Sweet, Fishie on the 50 giving the guys a hurry up.:woohoo:
I'll bring mine of course.
My 100 I've just put the YZ100 piston in last night. Without all of these valves to create friction what with the upittdy down all the time pissing about & the piston having to be made all heavy & lumpy on the top to accommodate them on a 4 banger; my 2 stroke piston is a thing of simplistic beauty.
Channelling the heart of the motocross engine I will be able to (legally) harness all this excess power. I was a bit concerned that with limited time that there would be deck height issues & indeed the compression will be a little lower & the squish area is at a steeper angle than the slightly flatter piston. But the clearance is now 0.6mm so its pretty close at the edge so should be working to an extent & gives me further scope to modify the head.
Really you guys don't have a hope, but please do turn up; it looks better when I wup the whole field.

Well now that is some talk. Bring it D boy. I have just finished transforming 45 for short track battle. Also running a new master cylinder that quite frankly is the shiz. Super powerful and nice and modular. Bike is running as good as ever. Body is fixed. So looking forward to some close racing. Also got my new GoPro camera so should have some good footage to post.
Bring on the fun.

Wicked! We should try get as many cameras on bikes as possible. I love watching the footage after racing, especially with all these high quality cameras showing up these days.
Awesome Dave, is it going to be quite a lot faster?

Great day peeps. For those interested GirrlRacer is fine despite a fractured humorous (upper arm) and mild concussion. She got knocked over by a passing rider who lost traction and she is adamant that it was a racing incident and could have happened to anyone. Top chick. She is very much looking forward to racing again in February, without crashing please.

Yep great days racing. Thanks everyone for helping out and making it happen. I am sure GirrlRacer will heal fast. Unlucky for sure. Hamish you got to slow down. Way to smooth and fast. Here is a video of a good battle.

Great footage Rich. There is bugger all in it between you 3. Isn't it about time one of you spent hideous amounts of money on suspension? You're so much bigger than the other two. Not much you can do about that unless you go for radical removal of excess organs and appendages.

Yep going to ditch the FXR chassis. New bike project almost underway. NSR_MC21 with some nice suspension. Should be good when its all together.

aw gee, you could have chosen the vid where I smoked the field & valiantly left everyone in my dust.

The new camera has lots of settings but none for capturing dreams and delusions. I will check for a firm wear update. He he. Well you surprised me for a good 20 seconds. Pity it died at least you know the problem.
I have 2 more races to upload. Will try do that tonight.

Great weekend, cheers everyone for showing up.
Massive massive thanks to Skunk and Clive for running the day. A really big thanks to my family and to Sarah for running all the food stuff etc, and a big thanks to my Mum for being the nurse for the day (she was a little gutted she wasn't able to go for a ride in the nice weather but was very happy she could help out).
Great racing all day long in A and B grade and it was great to see a number of new people (and fast new people too!).
There were a couple of things that were pointed out to me and that I noticed too was that there were a few bikes that have nylon on them that won't stay on if they were to crash or if the wind blew too hard. Just make sure that your nylon will stay on the bike rather than leave trails of it round the track as you go by. Some of the handlebar nylon was a little dodgy and it's pretty easy to knock that stuff off with your hands.
Another thing was the sound level. I will be honest and say it's pretty clear I have one of the loudest bikes at buckets and I deserve a slap for not having changed it already. A few spectators didn't appreciate a few of the bikes that caused ear bleeding, loss of vision and incontinence. It would be appreciated by probably everyone if some of us noisy dickheads could quieten down our bikes.

Hey there was a guy out there with a very very cool looking camera taking photos. It looked like he was the kind of person who would have a photography website. Does anybody know who he was? I'd like to get in touch with him and make these photos available to everyone. Cheers
