I've got an Alpinestars back protector and I'm thinking of adding some chest protection. I've seen in MotoGP some of the guys are using a simple vaguely heart shaped protector that folds down to half size when they're not using it and just slips inside their leathers when they're riding.

Does anybody know what brand this is or have any other recs?

Thanks.

Alpinestars Bionic chest protector inserts are designed to fit into Alpinestars jackets and suits with the apropriate pockets. They also do full vests and the 1 piece foam job that you are talking about, but they are abit of a pain in the arse for street riding.

With the Bionic inserts you just fit them inside you jacket and forget about them.

edit: i just saw that this was posted in the racing section, so the 1 piece protector would be the go.

I got one of these

Wear it everyday - even on short trips.
Only complaint - the velcro has lost some of it's stickiness.
I've only tested the chest guard when I hit a bird. Seemed to work. Feathers and blood are a bitch to clean off of leathers.

http://www.alpinestars.com/shop/categories/moto/protection/tech-chest-guard/ I use one of these with my alpinestar race suit very simple and effective you just sit it in place and do up your zip and ride away it saved my bacon a few times. Now I wear the new berik suit and its all built in

Thanks very much folks. Some interesting options.

I think what I've seen on TV might be a version of this :-
