I think it's a valid question - it would be an opportunity to recognise achievement and curry positive media; like we don't need that...

it was really pushed by Paul Pav and MC trader), and it seemed to have died after he left,
I liked the concept, and attended once or twice, but i think the black tie thing put people off, alot of motorcycle racers do not like wearing suits,
Like most things in motorcycling, it needs one or two people that really believe in it to make it happen, with out that person pushing it it becomes another good idea that everyone wants someone else to put together

Make no mistake, even the "wrong racers" with the high guards have the exact same attitude .... everyones an expert AFTER the event, that wooshing noise you hear is the sound of hands being held OUT, not UP .........

Stand-by we (Motorcycle Trader) are working on something for you in 2012 and they'll be no black tie event this time.

Actually the ORIGINAL soiree was run by The Event Mechanics, after the idea was sold to MCT&N with the help of Rhys Jones. It was a great success, but seemed to taper off in popularity as the years rolled by.
There IS something in the pipeline, but before you worry about spending some of your race budget hiring a suit, better WIN something !
