Lets see if I got this right. The Warehouse imports a shitty little toy bike, get MC Docs to give it a once over to see if its ok. This family buys one, within an hour their little brat has seized it and they take it back. The Warehouse say they wont give $$ back until they have had it checked again at MC Docs but give the family a replacement which they again seize within an hour. I think if I was the Warehouse I would be reviewing the service as well, but not to blame the little guy as you say, I would want to know how this same family had seized 2 bikes within an hour after they had been given the OK for sale. Me thinks they have been trying to use this toy as a real bike and/or have not read/followed the instructions properly.
The family or media are beating up. Whilst the 1st was reported as seized it was a broken clutch spring.

Needed to be repeated.
The guy in the article is a knob. Don't know him personally - but buying a motorbike from the warehouse and complaining about bad quality is rather irritating.
Especially considering they aren't much cheaper than a proper store.
Guy is knob and needs to stop expecting the world to fix his problems.

George: "It's a piece of shit that will run for an hour max, then it'll break."
Warehuse: "Good enough... We'll take it."
Probably nailed it on the head there....
I suspect half the problem is that the people buying them have no CLUE about anything much mechanical (lawnmowers/weedeaters/bikes etc) and they are just mistreating the equipment.
If I bought one, I'd assume it to be pretty disposable at that price and I'd probably be fairly cautious about how it was used.
Also having a bit of mechanical know-how behind us, depending on the issue we'd probably just fix something as minor as a spring.
Parts can fail on anything. Could be a bad batch, could be bad luck, and if it really had a seized motor yeah I might go back to them, but not so much for little issues.
Seems pretty clear they haven't got any idea what they are doing if they could confuse a clutch problem for a seized motor...
Honestly, they could probably give them ten bikes and they would 'find' a problem with all of them, where 100 other people won't have a single issue. So who's fault will it be then

Meh, they're cheap, they break, no biggy there.
The problem is Mr King raised Jason to be to bloody useless to sort out minor things like a leaking carb and broken clutch spring himself. If he was any sort of man he'd have had his son back in business in less time than it takes to drive to the Warehouse and back.
WTF happened to the men of this country? They can't fix elementary problems on the worlds simplest motorcycle? Barry Crump would number eight that bitch in ten minutes flat.
Time to hand back your Man Card Jason King.

Time to hand back your Man Card Jason King. I remember lots of chatter about VFR750 V4's being difficult to service but I discovered they were quite simple to do all the basics on and the valves have only once needed adusting in 120,000k so geting at those is now largely unnesessary.

Would have been better off buying an old Japanese bike for $800, which will at least have decent resale value unlike a cheap Chinese bike which loses half its value as soon as it's ridden.

Reminds of that Doco "Intrepid Journeys" on TV I was watching about that Weather guy Tamati or whatever he calls himself. The Hilux got a puncture and he didn't even have a clue on how to change the tyre. FFS he didn't even know how to use a jack !!!!
Those bikes look good but I would not go near one. Didn't those other orange ones get recalled this time last year from WH ?
My wee fellah is going to get a Japanese PW or QR or LT50 when he's a tiny bit older. Even if I have to rebuild it.

He brought something that has 12 month Warranty and it broke, then got another one to have it break again. How is he a knob for that?
I do understand that you get what you pay for, but hey you also got to stand by what you sell.....
I have brought one of these for my daughter to learn on while her older brothers get a neat 125 to ride this xmas... So if it breaks, I too will take it back as it has a warranty. If the same fault appears I might just complain as I have a right too.

So if it breaks, I too will take it back as it has a warranty.Surely if it's dribbling gas (I've yet to see a Chinese carb that doesn't at some stage), surely you'll at least take the float bowl off and see if any crap is in the seat though?
On that note, before you run it, stick a small filter from a mower shop on it. Might save you plenty of dicking about. Just take the fuel hose in to get the right size (although generally they're 3/16" ID).

Um there's a big clue right there, he's even figured it out but yet he still expects... exactly what from a bike that costs $600? FFS, it doesn't take much to figure out that a dirt bike that costs $600, from a company that is known to sell cheap crap that breaks, is going.... break. Same principle as buying a $5.99 toaster, it's cheap because...

You would seriously just take back a mechanical item, simply because a small part failed?
Wow.....
If my partner did that I'd be confiscating all his bikes and taking back his mancard.
Thankfully he's a real man and can figure out the difference between major engineering faults and the risk (as with anything mechanical) that that parts can fail.
If you want quality, man up, spend the money and purchase from a reputable brand.
If you buy cheap shit.... Deal with it. It's not hard to clean a carb, or change a spring, or replace minor parts. If you can't manage that, then don't buy one!

Have you ever read what a warranty covers?
I can fix and do maintain my bikes/truck/van, but this is under warranty and the warranty will be void if anyone else except for a qualified bike mechanic tries to fix it...
I never said it was quality, If it breaks and lasts out the warranty period, then guess what I can use my mancard as u say. But until then I don't have to!!!!

Its the smart thing to do, Get it fixed at their expense until such cover expires, Doesn't matter if its a $600 bike or a $26000 bike, The obligation is the same, and I'd imagine anyone with a brand new $260000 would be back down the dealership instantly if it failed in an hour, Not pulling it apart to prove they are a real man.
If they provide a complete replacement on the spot then thats even better, Go back for a third I say.
And if your partner is a real man then you are in no position to confiscate his bike or his balls, No matter what decision he makes on mechanical repairs.

I agree and disagree. If it's something that is of expected high quality and you have paid for quality, then yes. Take it back and get the manufacturer/sales people to sort it out.
I wouldn't expect anything less, if I purchased a $10'000 brand new mx bike, that if something was wrong (manufacturers defects) that the seller/manufacturer would put it right.
Simply because if I'm spending that kind of money, I clearly am looking for quality. I expect it, I've paid for it and I chose to do so because I wanted to know it was reliable and fit for the purpose to which I intend it.
But when you are talking about Warehouse crap... then no. I disagree. When you buy from the Warehouse, and spend $600 on a motorbike, you are purchasing a disposable toy.
You should be well aware of this fact before you even walk through those big red doors.
The Warehouse do not stock anything of any decent quality as a rule.
Pretty much unwritten that yes, you will get a bargain.
Yes you will come out with a whole lot more 'stuff' for you dollar.
But it's also pretty unwritten that if you can get something purchased from The Warehouse to survive the trip home, then you are doing well.
As for your comment about taking his mancard, my point completely went over your head didn't it..... If I was to have to confiscate it, it would mean he's not behaving like a real man, hence he wouldn't deserve it *scratches head*
Also, he's sitting here chuckling away at this (he sits next to me you see) and his comment was that I could quite happily stick them in my handbag if he acted like that. So yes, I have every right.... I even have permission!
Thankfully, he has never ever done anything like that in 15 years, so can't imagine it happening anytime soon. There are good reasons I put up with his shopaholic-toy-purchasing ways. He's not stupid being one of them.
