It surprises me that he is able to live next to her, really.......
I can't help the thought that there may end some "southern vigilante " justice coming his way....some time soon.

Sorry Edbear but it says borderline intellectual function not limited. Given his other offences, the torn undies returned to the victims clothesline, I suspect he knows exactly what he is doing and the woman's reaction is what he wants. He moved there to frighten and exert some control over her, to remain a factor in her life, makes him feel important.

Yeah the Justice system really works in NZ. What a great place to live, where rapists can live side by side with their victims .
What next, head of SCF become the heads of the RBNZ?

Fixed that for ya.
Way back in the 90's when our eldest daughter was at college one of her peers was very mean to her and picked on her daily. She was really nasty. One day she was involved in a car accident and suffered severe head injury that left her partially brain damaged. To Rachael's amazement, once the girl recovered enough to go back to school she was completely the opposite and was so nice after that that Rachael didn't know how to handle it for a while.
May be worth a try...

I wonder why she can't get over it, it appears he has either and that he has moved in next door just to terrorise her
A rape victim whose attacker moved into a neighbouring property has been subjected to a stream of intimidation and harassment for the past two years, her partner says.
He was writing to her from prison.
And the sicko has sicko friends helping him
About a year ago, two female friends of Crofts had appeared at the couple's front door about 10.30pm, asking for the victim and making derogatory remarks, which included calling her a dog.
This is a case where the victim needs some victim support of the sort discussed above. We don't need this guy or his friends in the gen pool.

I'm confused, has she not gotten a protection order?
As if she has, she would be able to prevent him being within X distance of her and would force him to move house.
I cannot believe that when they released him there wasn't some kind of permanent order in place. It just blows my mind that a man can put someone through such a prolonged and continued attack on their personal safety and even their ability to be safe in their own home, without something being able to be done to protect the victim.
It's even worse when they point out that the likelihood of recidivism is SO much higher with him living in temptations way, being so close to his victim.
NZ sucks sometimes.

The first article said there was some sort of permanent order in place but that only prevent contact or something, hence the use of the friends I guess, and the one that prevented him moving close had lapsed.
The woman has an indefinite protection order in place against Crofts, but the order does not specifically say he could not live beside her.
And he is such a high risk of re-offending that he had to serve his full sentence!
He was denied parole on several occasions and served his full sentence before being released, a parole spokeswoman said. Offenders were usually denied parole if they showed a high risk of reoffending and no remorse for their actions
Yes some of the things that happen here do suck at times.

Poor woman, I thought they didn't have 'expiry' dates on them. The one's I've helped family/friends get didn't have any end date (they had to go back to court to have them dissolved) and they were only for domestic violence type problems.
They weren't for quite as horrific a crime as rape.
Crappy system when a rapist can 'do the time' and get off scot free :eek5:

I was talking to my flatmate, who is a criminal psychologist, the other day about this sort of stuff and apparently they can only specify certain conditions 6mth Max, after their release
Crazy huh
I guess they are trying for rehabilitation and all that, done their time, but for people who are at high risk of reoffending it seems crazy

Not that I condone violence of course.
In the absence of a degree in human psychology, I have to rely on common sense. And to me it would seem that a convicted rapist who moves in next to his victim is not exactly done.....
