We're thinking of heading south after Xmas and were wondering on the status of the Porika Track. I remember earlier in the year a section had slipped away. Has it been repaired. ?
Also, I have a 4wd mag that shows a track through Private stations and crosses the Orari River. Does anyone know of this ? Or any other cool places to go.
Cheers Phil

We went thru the Porika last month and it is signposted as an unmaintained road. Moderately rough and a ste...ep drop down to Lake Rotoroa but definitely worth riding both directions. :woohoo:

presumably this has been repaired then? This was a while back giving mattsdakar and I a little extra challenge to deal with (from this trip (http://www.adventureguide.co.nz/articles/12/77/3-day-rainbow.php))
