Alpinestar and Thor combined boots. Can anyone shed some light?

So I purchased a set of boots from my neighbour. At first this was all good. It had one broken buckle and I took it into our local Honda shop.

This is where the confusion starts. Trying to figure out the type of boot and buckle. It turns out the sole and buckles are branded Alpine Star, but the boot itself is branded Thor. I can understand if possibly the buckles where just changed for Aline stars ones, but the sole ? It says "Alpine Star Made in Italy" on the bottom of the sole.

So can anyone explain how this works or if anyone has seen it before ? The lady at the bike shop was baffled and none of the suppliers had seen it before either.

I'm about to go to the neighbours to see where he had purchased them from. Mybe that could solve some problems.

Sounds like they had new soles put on them at just put on what ever they could get.

Thor's parent company is the USA distributors for Alpinestar Boots, so they may have been made under liceinse for them, although i have never seen it, i would suggest what Barty says above may be the case

if you take them into Mr Motorcycles in Pukekohe they have a heap of boot clips and maybe able to match something up, ,

(since your new, i am part owner their but currently overseas on a sabitcal)

Have seen boots with this before they don't happen to be size 12 do they? As my uncle smoked his soles on his thor boots and the top bit on his alpinestars were broken so he got the alpinestars soles put on his thor tops and had good boots again. if they are these ones I cant ask him because hes out of the country at present Im pretty sure he used thor q1 buckles as when I had the thor boots we went halves in a buckle pack.

Off topic scott but did you end up selling the saloon.
