I've only done about 80km since getting my L plate and I'm pretty sure I'm thoroughly addicted.

My ride is a 2005 Honda VTR 250 which in my opinion does the trick nicely. We are still getting to know each other, but I can see things working out very nicely as long as I don't make it too obvious when I'm ogling the occasional Ducati Monster.

As usual when I get myself into a new hobby I find myself soaking up new information all over the place... so much to learn and so many more kms of 'practice' required ;) Seriously... I've only spent about 5 minutes going faster than 50km so far!

I'm based in Lower Hutt and I'm definitely still in the 'learner' camp, but if anyone would be keen on a ride or passing on some more experienced knowhow I'd been keen to meet up. (Reminds me I should look into that mentor program shouldn't I...)

Hi everyone :)

Welcome to KB.

Like yourself, I am still on L.. Mainly too lazy to move off them tbh haha.

As Maha has previously posted, Each week we meet up at different locations for a Learner Friendly Ride. You are more than welcome to come along and attend and learn off experienced riders.

Hope to see you out and about.

Adrian.

Welcome to the fold. Good thing is when you get used to riding in windy Wellington, anywhere else you go seems like a breeze. Oh, and bikes don't mind if you ogle other bikes, unlike wives and girlfriends haha.

The VTR:

Overall I like it. Having ridden no other bikes in my life I have nothing to compare it to - but it seems to have enough power for now and it goes where I point it without fighting back.
