I really can't see what was dangerous about the truck drivers performance.

All I see is a fuckwit on a bike on the wrong side of the road.
I guess Darwins Law applies there .......

X 2 - Shouldn't the thread title be: "Damn motorcyclists"?

And post should read: "Remember folks, summer now so a lot more of you will be out there, so watch out for those dangerous motorcyclists"

Fixed :done:

Fuckin truckies, From now on I'm going to give every truck I see the finger.

But only when I'm on my bike.

That will teach em to be on our roads, attacking the brotherhood with their merciless trucks.

Just doing my bit for biker public relations.

Yeah it was sarcasm, anyone who actually watched the video should have realised that. I posted it up as a reminder of how vulnerable we are against large objects, and why we need to be pro-active about how we ride. I just lost a mate the other day in a collision with a van. People spoke ill of the van driver, asking whether he'll be charged etc. Well my mate did something (from what I've been told, from what I saw of his injuries, from what I saw of the crash scene) very very stupid that day, something that like the rider in the above video cost him his life. Nothing to do with the van driver ultimately. But he/she will have to live with it for the rest of their lives, as will the driver of the truck in the vid.

Wise up people.

Pity you had to explain it, Those that don't get it probably should have thought about it some more.

This is silly comment

As far am concerned like anyone who drives for living these guys are really good at what they do

And alot have most respect for Motorcylist and few i know over the years are active motorcylist themselves

your telling me somone drives as many hours as they do and as many kms and they have to do it to

to time limits and have much smaller rev range to work to

if you travelled at night between palmerston tuapo like i have in my car i like to follow the rigs at night as there like inch perfect on the corners great to get into great safety thing i whould not do this on bike however

as a motorcylist you got remember that u need to be right postion following to be seen by the truck drive

eg if you can see him in his mirrors he can see you and give them space as there very heavy fully loaded

Only time i felt need to pass but havent is when there going up steep grade other than that bang on 100kph

average speed all the way they have to to meet there deadlines and we whould not have food on the supermarket shelves on time if wherent for these guys

Now i'm more worried about the cot cases who just didn't get it than i am about the trucks on the road. (not that i was ever worried about them anyway, they are excellent drivers in most cases) One has to ask what kind of person it is that didn't see the sarcasm originally and if not then, perhaps in the comments provided later, they are now a worry for me.:brick:

Yup. After experiencing the death of a good friend with 20yrs riding experience through absolute stupidity, leaving behind a wake of devastation to family and friends, and watching the grief etc at his funeral, made me realise that even the best of us need a little harsh wake up call. Watching this video is far less offensive then looking at my friend in his casket.

Yes, well my apologies - at a bleary eyed 6am on a Saturday the sarcasm was somewhat lost on me :)
The rest of you can get fucked!

At the end of the day, regardless - still a timely reminder for everyone to ride safe. At least I was wide awake when I hit the road later that morning, more than I can say for some I witnessed...

Featured here on kb many a time. Much to everyone's disgust and indignation when the "s" word is used in relation to it.

I smell a conspiracy.
Why else would you have your camera rolling on a minor road following a truck that is neither speeding, nor driving dangerously?
Definately a set-up!
