I have been told that there is a RCA cable to USB adaptor that will allow transfer from a handycam cassette camera to a PC.
Is this true? Thanks

No USB on the handycam. It is from the mid 90's. Was given to me and is perfect. Unfortunatly, was only meant to tranfer to a VHS or TV.

This is probably what you're looking for. It even comes with video editing software

No USB on the handycam. It is from the mid 1800s!. Was given to me and is perfectly preserved. Unfortunatly, was only meant to tranfer to a rock face or cave wall.
Fixed that for ya

the missus is redecorating the cave, new skins on the walls so that rules out using the cave.

I have one of these, bought from FirstIn.
I got it so I could record stuff off the MySky recorder for the Wife (so she could give certain specialty programs to her folks).
It sort of worked, but in the end was not quite good enough, and too much hassle, so just bought a HDD/DVD-R box, for her to use herself (which she then proceeded to not bother doing, and then her parents got Sky themselves so the whole issue became moot, except my wallet is still thinner, anyway...).
You can have mine for the cost of postage.
If you want it, give me a chance to make sure all the stuff is together.
Disclaimer: when googling around for help on how to make the thing work better, I found that there were knock-offs of the EasyCap device floating around. I can't guarantee the one I got from FirstIn is "genuine".
