I recently got a 1980 Honda C50 for free. Thought it would be a fun project to fix up. It is fully functional apart from the electrical system. As I understand it the alternator powers the headlight and rear light. These seem to be working fine. However, I cannot get the indicators and horn to work. These are powered by the battery which I have recently replaced. I got hold of the wiring diagram but cannot figure out what the problem is. I would really like to have the indicators and horn working.
Any ideas?

your on the right path with battery the horn, indercators, neutral light & brake light work of one power circuit headlight and tail light off the other power circuit. If you have a wiring digram you are more than half way there, get a mulitmeter and start working throught the battery circuit starting at the battery. There is a fuse by the postive terminal of the battery have you checked that? Next I would be checking for power at the ingition switch and if there is power there check for power at the switch block, wiring diagram will give what colour wire you are looking for.

hope this helps.

Well I managed to get the horn working by experimentation with wires. The neutral light and indicators still won't go though. I replaced one of the indicator bulbs as it was broken but nothing happened. Might have to pay an auto sparky to fix it
