Could even take a jetboat to work. Although I can't imagine the local constabulary being too impressed with people doing Hamilton turns down the road, but I suppose there's not much they could do about it.

To give you an idea of the amount of water there is... this is a stopbank 1 street away from our place.. it's been designed as a catchment for the creek.. for days such as this  so you can see the height of the bank! there's a massive lake on the left side of it now, which is usually a huge area that people exercise their dogs on. Ma says this catchment & the one further down the creek (where the duck pond is.. that is now the other lake) is designed to hold water until the tide goes out.. but with the amount of rain we're having.. it's overflowing. Parrantly the last time this happened was bout 25 years ago
The water then goes over another of those waterfalls (designed to reduce the force, I think) & down the creek (now river) to the gardens.. & flows into the duck pond.. so I'd estimate that the water at the pond is now a good 4 metres deeper than normal  The volume of water is incredible!

Bloody hell, I walked down there a couple of hours ago and the lake wasn't that high. Its only about 50 metres from my place.
Gonna be an interesting night
