Whats up with these 2

Planning my Xmas Day Loop & looking at cutting through Palmerston Nth from Fielding & was wondering if the Manawatu Gorge is open after the last slip ( I'm guessing it's not ) OR whether the Pahiatua track is an alternative route to get onto SH2 from PN...........

Gorge still closed, I'd take the Pahiatua Track before the Saddle Road personally....

Yup, gorge is fucked.

I've done the saddle twice in the last week, got half a clear run the last time, and stuck behind a horse float the first. Plenty of road works going on too, so add another 40ish minutes to go that way.

Pretty sure pahiatua track is still open, but not sure if balance bridge is.
