G'day. I've got this shitty old ex-bucket racing A100 to piss around with recently. It's been going intermittently. Having done a bit of research on it, I found out about like oil injection or something to that effect, and I'm wondering if that's the cause of my problem given that I've been running it on pre-mix, and have had a fouled plug after a couple of km's every time. Anyone know anything? Cheers.

What premix ratio you got?

Is the oil injection system still hooked up? On some of those old 2 smoker Suzukis (like my TS185) the carby connects to the head, not the crank case and the oil injection connects to the crank case to lube the bearings, then the piston. I made the mistake of running mine at about 50:1 pre mix and it ran like a pile of shit with hardly any power with the oil injection still hooked up.

Are you sure you're running the right spark plug? Since it's an ex bucket bike it may have too cold a plug for casual riding around.

Yeah I changed out the plug 'cause it did have the wrong one in it. Is there a easy way to tell if the oil injection's still hooked up?

You should see an oil bottle somewhere (I think it's around the seat, correct me if I'm wrong). There should be an oil hose connecting to the crank case as well from that bottle or to the carby if the carby is connected to the crank case.

The bottle will probably be around 1L in size so you can't miss it if it's still there.
