THE V8 Supercar community is in deep mourning with the tragic passing of popular driver Jason Richards.

The New Zealander passed away peacefully last night at 8.00pm after a brave battle with Adreno Cortical Carcinoma (ACC), with which he was first diagnosed in November last year.



R.I.P JR. You will be missed Buddy. :bye:

Certainly raised the eyebrows when I heard it on the radio. I knew he'd been fighting cancer but I thought he was recovering and on the up. But I guess that's his personality coming though, always a happy, positive bloke who just got out there and did it.

Very sad, when I saw this on the news it showed him being interviewed 6 months ago.He was saying how hard it was to deal with writing up the next thirty years of birthday cards for his two daughters.
How could you deal with that?

RIP was in hospital when heard the news,then the news it wasn't Jase,then confirmation.He tried all sorts of treatments to kick the crap,just shows us no matter how bad things are there is someone worse off,cancer sucks.Hence my quote on plate.Drive well with Brockie,Freeth,Possum,Hulme we will miss your attitude to life,fucken inspirational and hard fought to the end,also thoughts to JonnyMacIntyre who was a great friend of Jase.

Yeah went to school with him, although didn't know him that well back then (he was in my brother's year). A few of my mates did know him well, one of the good guys by all accounts. RIP dude...
