Oh the sweet sounds of moaning people in the house because nothing is connecting - yet I can still sign in and post threads

Tried clearing your cache and cookies?
I thought it may be the cache that was allowing me to see Kiwibiker, but the fact I could sign in and post was weird! Well, after a while I reset the router and it worked then... I was having a small giggle that no one could go on facebook! Others should really learn how to reset the router - it is only 1 little switch!
 "must I do everything!?"

I have a couple of problims with the computer: can't email out ,can't click linky things in email and have them work(Ihighlight and copy). I am at my daughters in Levin with my computer useing her modem. There is always a way round it but it is a bit anoying.Configering this modem will mean that I will have to do it again when I get home.

If it's a broadbank modem/router - you don't need to change anything in the modem unless someone has fiddled with it to be a clever clogs. Just plug in with network cable...or USB if you are unlucky. It should detect the PC and go viral on the net!
Make sure your PC is up-to-date with all Microsoft updates available. Update your browser to latest version. If your links aren't working - it is possible your PC is to blame...due to inadequate software versions/revisions...
Do a reset of your IP address at the PC if u know how..(right click on the network connection and choose repair). ..reset the modem by powering it off and back on after 10 secs or so.
Go buy a new PC.
