Apologies for the cross quoting, and also to anyone I have missed out. I am looking for some support for an event that I am planning to get into for next year. This is a real early post, there are HUGE plans involving a North Island Wide event for us biker fellows, but for now I need 20 members to make up our team to enter into the Relay for Life http://www.relayforlife.org.nz/ in March next year. The one I am aiming for is March 3rd. We have Paeroa weekend and our Taupo trip clashes otherwise.
As some of you, or none of you may know one of our own is not very well at the moment. When we were on the Cape ride it would be fair to think he may have been pretending to be sick :dodge: but as it turns out the fat bastard is facing another battle with Cancer, this being his 3rd. He must have been a real bad bugger at some point in his past  I have run this past him and he is happy to be our poster boy :wings: so how say you?
I need 20 members @$20 a head to register a team. What are my chances?

We are NOT running. Infact, I will be looking at inventive ways we DONT have to work very hard at all! All we have to do is keep the baton moving around the track for the full 24 hours  Easy
Selling chocolate may well form part of the money raising though

Am in near tears Ann,what a great bunch of caring people,I am hoping to get up for the relay(my priority is the Taranaki one as family link to it).I would soo like to do the opening survivors lap to kick this off and beleive me will try my hardest to be there, and this is what I love about the kb way and riding in general, all great people.:grouphug:
When life sucks to some to others a mere hickup, well to me this shock result is a mere blip in the road,I am proud to be a survivor when I do the opening lap,it is the best part of having had cancer.:2thumbsup
I am far and away not the first or last person to endure cancer, but beleive me the relay is a great way for the society to get the message out there,i.e bowel, prostate, breast, malonoma, and the slip, slop, slap message, and the funds raised stay locally, who knows you never know if you need the society,I sure as hell hope none of you guys EVER need to use the society, but if you do the benefits you recieve are amazing.
So from the bottom of my heart from myself and family(who are amazing, and probably feel lots more worry than me)my heartfelt best wishes for xmas and new year.

...another part of this day (idea in the making) is to have a baton leave Wellington and visit all parts of the north island as possible while making its way to Aucklands North Shore...a Motorbike Baton Relay?
Heaps to think about with this one (logistics) and a few details to put in place.
I would like some help with this (to nut it all out)..2-3 extras should do it...pm me if you're in.
All the best for tomorrow Tony.

Well you see mate it goes like this...
Sometimes in life we stumble accross some truely amazing people and when we do it is special. This is our way of supporting you in your new journey with cancer. We cant be there, but you can sure as shit know we are with you all the way. The Relay for Life is Nationwide, not just in Auckland. You need to stay put and celebrate your life with your family down there. It is also a broader platform. I doubt there are many that have not been touched in some way by cancer.
I lost my Mom to the effects of her treatment, my brother has just faced down throat cancer, is 12 months clear of his treatment and seemingly doing well, my best friend taken far too soon. So this is for all of them too.
All we have to do is give a shit mate, the rest comes easily in my experience. Watch this space though, it is promising to be alot of fun for all concerned :D
All the very best for tomorrow, at least you will have a plan, and some idea of the prognosis of treatment too. Do let me know.
i thought we'd be going down to Hawkes Bay?
I have a call into the Auckland coordinator of the event to discuss the detail of what we have in mind, I want to know is we all have to be in attendance at the same time or whether we can come and go and be outside harrassing folk for money :innocent: She must be very busy, I will call her again tomorrow!
Oh, and I like the 1 bike/12 skates/1 rope idea very much
Get thinking about how you can get money from people, I am going to simply harrass everyone I meet for dontaions, my boss must be good for a tap

Funny you should say that, yes, yes we will get T-shirts. I found a cheap supplier of them, I am certain they will come to the party for a few T-Shirts. Lots of respect to you man.... Gutsy stuff...
I've had a wee brush myself and I know what it did to my head - christ knows what you have been through to get to this point. There is nothing I can say that you have not said yourself. Please let me know if I can do anything and I'm sure others feel the same.
I admire your attitude in this time of extreme adversity - if my time comes I'd hope to have the same mana!

It never ceases to amaze me how strong you are Tony, you're an inspiration to so many others, and we all love you more than words can express! I'm looking forward to seeing you at Taupo - if not before - so much, as I know everyone else is too! I'm glad you're gonna get back on the bike, you deserve a nice ride! Definitely let me know if there is anything you ever need a hand with, the least I can do for ya.
Stay strong, keep that huge smile on, and we'll see you soon mate!

Dont you go getting all soft on us now, I much prefer the rude prick that is the Tony I know and love. As I said mate, that certainly sucks a big, fat one and I suppose I should make more of an effort to be nice to you, but fuck it :sunny:
It is at best a life sentence mate, let us all help you to make it the best it possibly can be. You know you dont have to ask eh?
So, no treatment, best that means is no side effects either :2thumbsup
You better start eating properly too, the anorexia is really over rated now :dodge:
Hugs all round, talk soon.

Ok where to bloody damn start you bastards.Sorry for delay no internet at 86 gsxr place, tell ya what ,if the world had more caring, guys like him it would be what bloody wars.
Only got on at library and pretty hard to be discrete with tears welling in eyes, see am bloody human mom,but decided to be upfront as thats the least you great folks deserve, yes unbelieveably hard, and am so very proud to see no pity, just good old fashioned warmth and concern.
Told my family yesterday, and close firends today,a word gutted for them.I usually have bloody no problem with fighting this shit, hell beaten it befor, but to be told no treatment will help has felt strange, even my ex partner couldnt think I'd do that, but although not accepting d day is xyz months I accept it is inevitable and will fight as long as possible.
Looking to organise a pre 50th birthday/living wake shindig in Hawera around end Feb/March,a local motel complex has heaps of beds/rooms so will see what can happen.
Am keen on annoying the crap out of you all at the relay, and coming up fri-mon,just sussing out funds via jetstar wgtn -auck,be proud to be part as am always except this be the finale.
What can I say again, great bastards you lot,to meet many for first time, and seemingly snob you due to eating then chundering and tiredness is awesome, merry xmas and give your loved ones a hug and tell them you love them, rock on till then.

Auto bid is higher hehe.
Actually am seriously considering selling my personalised plate,IBTIT short for I Beat It,my ex partners idea when I bought my GSX750ES back in 2009,was silly to buy GSX750 at time,as would look silly on a different bike, but would be ok on the Gixxer in hindsight lol.
