The Wonder Motorcycle Rally (In Waiau) Friday 13 January 2012

Summer is here and so is the Motorcycle riding and Rally season. The resurrection of the Waiau Wonder Rally is on Friday 13th of January 2012. This is an 18+ event, due to licencing issues and there may be some 'dodgy' entertainment and games etc., The Rubber Band are playing on Saturday night with some local talent proving some interesting entertainment on Friday night. Booze prices will be low so there will be no need to load your bike with your own stuff. Plenty of food being available from the local community organisations. Recipients of the funds raised at the gate will be the Amuri Volunteer Rural Fire-fighters Association.

Well that was a fun wee rally. The wind blew like a bastard on the ride up via Weka Pass, but was all good at the rally site. A nice afternoon/evening for sitting on the grass with a couple of beverages and catching up with people. Woke this morning feeling very lethargic and with a pair of legs that didn't seem to want to work properly ... hmmm, must have been a good night then :drinknsin It was a nice calm sunny morning at the site and a great morning ride through the Leader Rd to SHWY 1 was had, then it blew like a bastard again for the rest of the ride home. I took a bunch of photo's, but most of them are unpublishable to protect the guilty ... you know who you are :shifty: So I'll just leave you with this one.
