anyone in the KB wilderness know how these work????need to use a tiny one that keeps something in position and releases as and when needed...

Use a car door central locking actuator.
Do you want me to try and find one for you? Might have one, if I find one I'll give it to you when I get that motor to you.

dont midn....but thing is i dunno how these work at all.......was just told to use them as they mite be helpful in the application that we need it for.......

Just guessing,but they may use a permanent magnet to assist the coil and reverse polarity to release.
I think failsafe security latches do something like this.

What exactly do you want to know, and how tiny does it need to be. What weight is opening and closing. What purpose is it for ?

I think failsafe security latches do something like this.
Good guess. The IBM copiers I used to work on were full of mag latch relays. The magnet is not strong enough to pull the armature on its own but will hold it in place once the coil pulls it over. Reverse polarity to the coil unlatches them. The polarity reversal was provided by a diode board.

Not intended for tilting a metallic flat object with letters and numbers on it? If so, you can buy the flash jobbies over the internet, else I was going to do a job on mine with central lock motors. Even bought the motors/relays/controller unit (overkill) but then changed bikes and haven't sucked up the courage to put any holes into it that Mr Kawasaki didn't plan on.

I find the accelerator has a similar effect, but not as effective when you have to pass the "spectators" first.

kinda figured the operation today as such...need 3 of these to grip a ball and release as and when needed....went to jaycar and bought the tiniest one..ball=squash ball 40g...so each of the 3 solenoids shud be able to handle 13g...........
