from yesterday.
Guy realises in the morning that his car has been stolen.
within an hour he has its location, get the cops there, and has his car recovered, thanks to the gps tracker he put in it.

the temptation to not call the cops and bring on some vigilante justice would be pretty great, although if they stole the car, they knew where he lived i suppose

I have one on my bike, one call and it’ll kill the engine and tell me where it is.

Jeez, I don't know why he bothered. I've got a Nissan Stagea as part of our work fleet - 2.5L of struggling gutlessness, drinks fuel 20% faster than my 4L Falcon, steers like a cow. The entire crew just call it "The Whale".

The RB25DET and RB26DETT models go quite well standard. A mild boost increase makes over 300bhp.

So with a bit of tweaking you could end up with a 300hp whale??;)

Hmm, we recovered a stolen car down here within hours of it being stolen, no technology like that needed, just local knowlewdge.
Two are residing in custody as we speak, a third on bail.
Losers with a capital 'L' the lot of them.
Owner was glad to get his car back undamaged, I bet he doesn't leave the 'spare' key in the centre console anymore....

A lot of people have a spare key in a slide-box ... "hidden" (in the usual places) on the car ...

In Invercargill we used to leave the house unlocked when we went on holiday. How else were the neighbours supposed to get in if htey needed to borrow something?

We managed to change a friends shopping habits in Cheviot after she got tired of us heading up there and feeding ourselves on Friday night while they were at the pub

I considered one for the Kizashi, but apart from not being sure if anyone would want to steal it, it would be hard to make it go unless you had the fob. Wont start without it.

We're more security-savvy than that - we put the keys on the sun visor.

Google is your friend, EBay is your pusher…
TK103 GPS tracker is what you want to look for, I’ve had mine for about a year with little drama but I’m still faffing around with it to see if it’ll fail on me.
I was thinking of bringing in a bunch and installing them but with so many to choose from maybe I’ll just offer an installation service?
Maybe a bit of both… I have the free time to have a little side project.
If anyone gets one and needs a hand or advice drop me a PM.
And you’ll need a Vodafone SIM card, 2Deg doesn’t work…
This is the manual to give you an overview.

I’m happy with my one, and am looking to re-program the outgoing text as it says things like “door open” instead of “tank lifted” or “seat removed” depending on what you want to monitor.

Why do people find it so hard to put prices on website.
Its like they think the www is like a big fat yellow pages and customers are expected to contact them and find out how much things are.
Fuck em. Competitors sell em on trademe for $160

POA on cars ... usually means, if you need to ask ... you cant afford it.
As for web site ... with costs going through the roof nowdays ... current price today, is out of date by the end of the week. Those that cant be bothered contacting the various websites ... usually have more to lose THAN that website.

Still think POA is silly just spit it out, I'll either be able to afford it or not; Just saves everyone the hassle of calling etc. But you make a good point regarding the price on websites.

Yep. My thoughts exactly.
Wife and I are looking for a house currently - lots of properties are "auction" or "tender" with no indication of what the hell its ball-parked around.
Agent got pissed of with me offering "$100" for houses that they refused to give me indicative figures.

Most businesses run "exchange rate" padding or "variation" padding into their prices.
Swings and roundabouts. Fact of the matter if you can't put a price (even a ballpark "Less than $200" pricing) on your website you are going to lose approximately 80% of your website traffic to a competitor who does.
When I want to buy a particular thing, I google it, open about 10 tabs of people who sell it, and immediately close the 5 who don't have a price. Leaving me to pick from the 5 remaining.
You don't have to have an e-store (but even my wife can sell something on trademe)...........but at least give people a ballpark before they have to email you or call you. Surely you have suppliers - how would you feel if they said "I tell you what, I will give you a price when you pay it".

Why bother spending money on a GPS tracker? Plastic hip flask bottle of vodka (sealed) Syringe out a few ml and replace with a cyanide solution, use wax to cover the whole. Report the car or bike stolen and wait for the police to get called to a serious poisoning/death. 1 less scum and keep your vehicle for $20 and a little help from the anarchist cook book.
