View Full Version : Filter foam over trumpets?

Is there anywhere I can get foam filters to slip over my intake trumpets? I have seen it done before, but cannot find any suitable bits of foam.

Otherwise I could use gauze and watch my intake valves dissipate...

I'm going to be running the bike with no airbox and the trumpets are not round enough to slap pods over and pods will effectively lengthen the intake runner length (in my mind)

Help!

go with an air box, both trumpets an cones are crap unless used with a suitable airflow condition

I am not going to run an airbox, I know of the issues with CV carbs and no airbox. They don't worry me. My bike has a battery, loom, fuse box etc where the airbox once went, so either I make a silly little airbox, or I slap filter foam over the trumpets/pods on it and tune it to suit. Power loss isn't a worry. (it'll sound pretty anyway)

How would one be inclined to set up pods on the trumpets then?
