I'm in the market building a 3 bike trailer since i'm loosing my work ute for a Holden craptivia in a couple weeks , and need to knock one up, over my x-mas brake. anybody got a pdf on some general measurements to work from , coupling to axel , width , bike spacing, etc, it will me mainly dirt bike use but could be use for the odd road bike recovery.
thanks

Get an old cheap jetski or boat trailer and fix it up. I have thought of putting a ramp and rail thing on my jetski trailer for my RM250. Will get around to it sometime.

Thanks. Just printed them out and see that for three bikes the spacing is only 533 mm from centre to centre of the wheel channel rails. That's some mighty skinny bikes gonna be fitting into that. without serious clashing of bars, pegs and levers.

Okay, so you found the same website I did. Didnt bother posting them as it looked too small, also lacks a decent front wheel stop. Looks like a reasonable axle setup though.

I do a fair amount of Autocad work, so if you give me some measurements to work with I'm sure I could modify those drawings and spit something out that would work for you.

if you have the tools, Id suggest buying a cheap fucked trailer, probably with rist in the deck etc, and strip it back to a rolling chassis, patch up any rust, buy a single sheet of 1.6mm (preferably damaged, itll be cheaper) and get a shop to chop it up and bend it into three U channels.
saves you a shitload of time and money.

Ive often seen deregd trailers with a ouch of rust go for $50-$100 cos the owners dont wanna pay to dump it or fix it.

get a standard trailer and make 4 tie down points in each corner. 3 strops, one on each side of the handle bars and one round the back wheel. works like a charm as long as you tie em down tight.

'Bout 100 bucks will get u a new plate and 12 months rego, then 12monthly Wof's from then for 5 Years... also worth re-vinning trailer every 5 years to save coin on WOF's. (depending on what u pay for a wof wherever u go)

i noticed that . and was going to modify that some what,
making it 2200 long rather than the 2150
still running with 1600 wide but spacing bikes differently 320 to centre LH rail 480 to centre middle rail 480 to RH rail 320 to edge (1600) = 320/480/480/320
setting the middle rail forward 400 and putting a 60 o angle U section at 380 long on the end of every channel for the wheel stop
total width ended up 230 guards 1600 tray 230 guards = 2060 total as have some mag's for it .

it is 2060, but i use it for my inflatable boat as well, and has sides and floor to make it a standard trailer as well , 3 in 1

you should only buy 1 of three brands ,
*viking ( TWL ) transport wholesale )
*CM (CM trailer spares) , BNT
*Al-Co ( one of the largest trailer manufactures in the world ) Al-co direct in alk
*or if you have to Trojan , ( best of the Chinese shit ) Repco
If you go in to TWL you should be able to get them to sell you a set Of 1500 kg for 95 +gst
the other will match ,close to that
the reason you want those three is ,
Quality of steel (correct grade Stub axels )
the cut radiuses in there axels not sharp edges , so dont brake so ezy ( stronger )
machined hubs , not direct from castings as cheeper brand do ( wheels run true )
Quality bearings skf nsk etc ( not a no name crap odds sized bearing .) and triple lipped seals
supper cheap do a nasty one
as do trailer quip for around 45-65 , but would not touch them with a shitty stick.
I use to work in this industry.
Hope this helps
Ps chose your wheels first and buy hubs to suit ,
