I've just written up with photos an account of my first gravel road ride on a Motor Bike out the back of Raetahi. In fact it was my first real ride on a motor bike on the road full stop. Compared to the distances you guys do its nothing, but I really enjoyed it.

Good read looks like you had fun. There are a few threads in the Adventure bike forum that cover paper roads, but the best approach is to ask the land owner first.
