Can you use the same coolant/antifreeze as for cars or do you need a specific type especially for motorcycles ?
Thanks.

I also mix in Redline Water Wetter, which helps to keep running temps lower (useful for 4T MX bikes that get trail ridden).

I use that too, but i also put a little normal antifreeze in too as the water wetter doesnt prevent the water from freezing.

Don't forget the anti corrosive properties of antifreeze.

Any coolant you buy from a bike shop will be safe to use.
You can get motorcycle safe coolant from super crap auto in 4L containers, just be careful and make sure its safe for bikes.
If it is not the correct one, it can damage the aluminium and the water pump seals.

Motul do a ready to use antifreeze mix in 1 lt bottles , it's called motocool, just rock up to your local Motul stockist [bike shop] and ask for it costs around $18.

Yes, plus 1 for motul. I use inugel, a bit more pricey but not much, and you mix it 3:1. It's funny that in this climate people call it anti freeze, just corrosion inhibitor really.
