Skyrim is Oblivion with graphical tweaks a modified levelling system and stupid magic-less spells called 'shouts'. Boring. Fun for a bit but there's virtually no game-time compared to Oblivion.

I almost posted a thread about Skyrim yesterday. Spent a large chunk of the holidays so far playing it.
I didn't like Oblivion either. Played all the way through Morrowind back in the day and loved it, but the stupid Oblivion levelling system killed it for me. So I started Oblivion but then canned it.
Skyrim fixes all the game design issues, though. The levelling system works very nicely, you don't have to do any grinding, just play the game and your character progresses appropriately. And the gameplay is choice. NPC and monster AI is pretty damn good, and the landscape and dungeons are absolutely spectacular.
Hand to hand combat is a bit meh, melees are just click-click-click, pause, take potion, click-click-click, etc. Play Skyrim as an archer / thief character or a mage for the most fun. I'm playing through as a Wood Elf focusing on archery, light armour and sneaking.
Skyrim's definitely worthy of its Game of the Year awards.

What manner of character are you playing through as?
And stand by, there's always a nude-with-big tits patch for these games sooner or later.
Edit: possibly not for Skyrim, though - it's DRM'd via Steam and won't run with modified files, apparently.

Spent a while making knives and enchanting them, made some mint armor, so now practically invincible. Finished main quests, got bored, played AC Revelations instead :D
Need custom spells like in morrowind, that made shit interesting!

Can't beat flying over a town and nuking it with 5000 points of every possible sort of damage over a 500m radius.
I'm not sure that the game designers realised quite what could be done in Morrowind when they released it. They certainly went on to close a lot of the gameplay loopholes in Oblivion (and Skyrim).

Yeh, that shit would be even better with updated graphics!
Gameplay loopholes are often the things that keep it interesting though, like the no mana cast cost for Skyrim, although that is deliberate. They should make an update patch for an instakil arrow knee shot, something to add a bit of hilarity to the gameplay, which was very good, but just lacking that little bit extra (like a parachute borne assassin for example :bleh:).

I've been playing Skyrim solid for about 6 days now on the xbox. Lvl 41 Destruction dude. Maxed out sneak/speech/pickpocket, Destruct/Enchant skill is 80+. Working on my smithing now so I can make/improve/enchant my own dragon armor set to replace my glass.
I played Fallout 3 too and really enjoyed it. My main gripe with Skyrim is processing loot after an adventure. It takes longer to visit multiple merchants/trainers/forges/enchanting to get rid of the stuff as it takes to get it! A lot easier now that I have all the money I need, these days I just dump my loot in my house, sleep and go back out again.

Skip forward 48 hours while at the merchant and he will have money again to buy more of your stuff.

Na theres a whole website/forums dedicated to modding Skyrim, including working on multiplayer for it.

And, join the Thieves Guild and do a few of their quests, then you can use their fences to offload loot, including stolen items. And the fences have several times as much cash as regular shopkeepers.

I hope you are going for light armour rather than heavy, as there are 2 types of dragon armour; dragonscale (light) and dragonplate (heavy). Dragonplate is useless, daedric has better protection and looks more badass. Dragonscale is the best light armor you can get though.
I'm at lvl 54, with maxed smithing and enchanting, 90+ on 1-handed, 2-handed and heavy armour and 80+ on archery and light armour.

Whats the matter with heavy armor?
There is a stone that can be used to nullify the weight of equipped heavy armour, meaning it doesn't affect your carrying capacity, strike speed or running speed.

Nothing wrong with heavy armour, it's just that dragonplate is inferior to daedric.

I started with Oblivion then went on to fallout3 and new vegas. I like both just the same although new vegas has some bugs issues.
If you haven't already get the game add on's for fallout 3 as if you beat the game on the main quest that's the game over, or do all the side quests before you finish.

Or there's a perk ('deeper pockets') about four steps along the pickpocketing skills tree that has the same effect carrying-capacity wise.

Or you can get the perk that lets you put 2 enchantments on 1 item, with Fortify Carry Weight on gauntlets, boots, necklace and ring you can get +148 carry using grand soul gems, or get even more with enchanting potions.

Fucker! I started playing new vegas again (put it aside a year ago and forgot about it) when I read this, and only just finished it with reasonably regular play. That's some value for money.
And yeah it has some bugs, but i perservered.
Unfiortunately not into dragons and magic and shit so skyrim's off the radar.

I've finished the main quest in Skyrim and most of the secondary ones and am still only at level 28. Popping back in occasionally to potter about, but without a storyline to follow there's not much motivation to just play to level up. I've had solid value out of it, though. At least a hundred hours play time.

600 pages!! Thats dedication.
I play BF3 and Skyrim on pc...lvl 17 or something, played maybe 20 hours, I get bored after the first 2 hours, I think I need to level a bit outside of the main storyline, I come to kill a boss and need to have a few goes at it maybe because im such a low level.
