Sure, but if you've got $2.5M lying around to buy one, pretty sure every other material want or need in your life is well taken care of. The rich have different priorities than you and I.

Basically if the owner can afford this, he can afford anything in the world. But he chose this, which shows what fabulous taste he has. I wonder whether he has any unmarried daughters?

It is hard to believe that we had to relocate to such average premises. We used to be in the bigger building to the right in one of the photos, (thats actually two buildings back to back, both of which are being demolished.)

Still, stupid earthquakes, eh? these offices are only temporary

I'll admit, I've never owned an R32 GTR, but I've driven many from stock standard through to 650hp mild tune GTR's, and without even looking up the spec's of the One 77 there is no way the R32 in std form would be a patch on that beast. Time has marched forward since 1989.

On a separate note, good to see Brit reliability shining through in regardless of the price tag. Spot the GPS system error at 4:35 in the vid. Even if it's just firing up it should know that, not say there is an error. Maybe he just doesn't have the disc loaded.

The A.M. is a different class of car, quite literaly. It is fast and sporty but it's a GT (Grande Tourisimo). It will travel huge distances and you are cossetted inside a Daimler/semi RR/Bently style form of luxury that ya Walky old one just cant match. I also hazzard a guess that the Walky, if faster? aint by very much!

The biggest testament to the owner of this car is what ELSE he has done with his company and money to benefit the local community. (A shit load...he and his business partner (and shareholders) are legends).

I am a massive car nut, but I must admit that while I do like that car, I am also somewhat underwhelmed by it. Lambo Murcielago LP 640 or 670 turn my knobs a lot more. And funnily enough, my favourite car of all to date is the B7 Audi RS4, with GMBH lowering kit and Arctic White kit (as per an older post of mine).
I also love the fact that Neil uses the 177 just like any other car...even taking the dog to the vet in it...nice.

I'd be very interested to see if the 0ne-77 does ride well, it's very race bred suspesion, but I have no doubt A.M can manage to make it nice, as they generally do.
In regards to the Walky, I was only comparing for the money you get a GT-R with, I couldn't care less that the GT-R (I'll put money on this) is faster around the track or on a road (straight line, I highly doubt it, it'll only have the upper hand in the launch). The GT-R has no appeal to me whatsoever sadly, if I wanted to go fast, I'd go to the garage and get my bike going, the Walky would do biblical skids, tow anything, ride well (Magnetic ride control, have sampled, do like) and comes with a real warranty, not one that keeps track of where you've been and if you've been on a track or used launch control thus voiding said warranty.

In short, I like noise, torque and skids with a proper gearbox.

I'd own the A.M in a heartbeat, it's gorgeous.

Did I say the Holden was faster? No. It just tickles me more.

In its day, the R32 was good. that is all. Ever seen one against an NSX? The NSX is faster.
The Mitsi GTO was just as fast, and people say that was a heavy, dull sack of shit.
It was great in race car form, was good in road car form, a 165kw SS (from back then) was a slow, sack of shit, still is. They're a joke, a 2.5 twin cam BMW will laugh them off (been there, done that)

I understand how fast and brilliant the Skyline is, It doesn't float my boat.
I live in my mind, I want V8 noise with a blower on top, torque and room.
The R35 is an amazing car, yes, best value for money street car on the market, no doubt there.
Surely, you owning a TLR would understand, why pour money in to that when you could have a S1000RR, which is superior in every single way?

I am not worried about outright performance, if something suits me, or gives me a hard on, I'll own it... I've had fast, I've had slow, I own whatever gives me tight pants, for example, I love Morris Minors. I love Rover P6's. I love my overweight Kawasaki, have done since I was a kid.
If we talked performance, a McLarcen MP4-12C will eat a GT-R in every single aspect except price, but the GT-R has shit paint and is fuck ugly (in my opinion), I put a dozen of your choice that it doesn't hold its value as well also.

Veilside's one did.

Isn't it sad............................................130 0hp in car used to be a massive achievement.

God I love the R35 though. In the same note I also hate it.
It was the first car I sat in, that crushed my dreams of owning an exotic. I used to be a Lambo man through and through. Then I sat in a R35 and I wanted to hate it.......I could not fault it on anything.

I was happily proven wrong (See my previous post).
I had sat and driven a few lovely cars in my time. And to explain how I felt when I got in an R35 (well technically it was an R37) I am going to give you a scenario.

Imagine you are a master chef. You are the cream of the crop when it comes to fine cuisine.
You have used the best knives known to man - some with handles made of fine ivory. You have used the biggest knives, the sharpest knives. The best of the best.

Someone gives you a set of Ginzu knives for xmas.
At first you humor them and cut some thing simple......to your supprise it does it with ease. And its so comfortable.

At the end of the day your saying things like "Holy shit I can cut timbre with this knife!"

In the R32 (and R34) defense it was never designed as a "supercar". Where as the R35 was.
The R32 was a "what-if-they-want-a-bit-more" skyline. In the same sort of ranks of HSV or AMG.
People gave it the mantle of "godzilla" after the Jap tuners started to find its claws............Something they had already done with the shopping trolley AE85 and the gas-guzzling boat the celica-supra.
Then again. The original ss454 Chevelle was described as "pray while driving car". Not to mention the "goes around the corner safely if your lucky" porsche's of the 70's.
So I guess every country had piles of shit that people made into "premium drivers".

...yeah that's the shitter, why my mate's WRX/skyline/austin altezza with the blowoff valve and low profile deep dishes and double overhead dvd player would smoke it at the industrial park on any given friday night eh bro.

Ya dreamin ya muppet, my mates brothers nephew's cuzzie's Ford Cortina Mk2 with an RS200gtlxghia turbo nutterbastard mota, and 15inch bass speakers pointing backwards for more power with the volume cranked up and the boot open, will piss all ova it.

It may be an Auckland thing, but to me it seems rather easy to stereotype the common Holden (especially SS & HSV owners) and Ford (again, especially the FPV crowd) owner. They are usually middle aged, overweight men who think that driving a stonking V8 indicates that they are real 'tough MEN'. It almost seems that these guys think that they have it MADE when they get their red SS Clubsport and act like they own the road and are living the dream.

In fact, case in point this afternoon. Driving to meet up with some of the family in a heavily built up suburban area, just about to pull out when a silver Monaro GTS comes flying around the corner at about 120-130kph (in a 50 zone). I pulled out behind him (dirty old Prado...no chance of catching up at all, nor would I care to) but the clown pulled into his driveway about 800m up the road (typical, fat, obscene looking fella) and gives me the 'glare'. The amount of 'businessmen' in Holdens and Fords that tried to give me a go when I had my V8 Audi S4 was astounding. In reality, to be fair, that could describe the actions of many boyracers in their kitted up Evo as well.

Anyway, my rant makes me sound like a Ford/Holden hating lunatic. Having driven both HSV's and FPV Fords, I must admit they are good bang for buck, I just find them a bit...rough and ready. Latest Maloo R8 utes are an exception to my hate-fest above.

So bloody true Brett. One of my pet hates in Bucklame is the bloody 40+ man in a Holden/Ford.

You've hit the nail right on the head, they drive like prats. I had one tail gating me as I was doing the speed limit (50), I slow down to about 20, he over takes me doing 80+ only to be stopped by a red light 100m later, useless cunt lol

Nothing against Holdens/Fords themselves, but some of the people that seem to drive them....good lord

I had the same problem with Jag owners. Aston owners are Jag owners with fatter wallets most of the time.
I love new XFR..........but at its price tag I could have a luxury car, luxury bike and a boat.

I heard that all the 177 owners were getting a Cygnet free of charge. Any truth to that?

Seeing as someone else has introduced more class into the thread with the "yes please" pic...

Lets add to it, as long as it is a REAL ONE and not some 350chev powered replica

Amazing the difference the twin carbs made, too. I still miss our old Mk1 1100, so comfortable, so economical, so roomy. Reliable as you could want. I'll see if I can dig out apic of it, but I guess it should go on your British Leyland thread, really...:Offtopic:
