Asking here because KB'ers know just about everything.

If a vehicle is modifed and then gets certified as such, does the registration (ie a carjam query) reflect the changes? ie if a car started life as (say) a 1900 Commodore 4 and then later recieved another engine, much more powerful than the original (frinstance a very fucking noisy350Chev) would the rego query make note of the changes?

No particular reason for asking, although there is a boy-racer type round here with a car that closely matches that description

It would appear that carjam maybe pulls some info off the NZTA. I just checked a vehicle that belongs to a guy I know through work. The car in question is a 78 Sunbird, NZTA show 5000cc (308) as the car is certified, and carjam shows the same. The car would have come factory with the 1900 I don't belive the Sunbird ever came V8 equipped. Therefore if NZTA know its a V8, carjam will also.

Looks like it does.

EDIT: Carjam shows the way the vehicle is after being certified, it doesn't state that it has been modified.
