Was an exciting race and definitely go hectic on the last lap, great to see the field size in this and the developement class looking so healthy definitley the best racing of the day. That young fella Jock Woodley who won the developement class could develope into something espicially if he got some leathers from this millenium.

Impressive race especially considering he was under pressure the whole time and didn't make any mistakes.

I think the current champion must now be under pressure with this challenge from Sam. To my knowledge he has come off four times racing against Sam at manfield and again at ruapuna in two meetings only, reflecting Sams ability and his own frustration. Andy hasn't raced for 2 years was able to come back picking up 4th and 5th placings with another 4th in the bag before the spill on the last lap at Ruapuna which also shows great skill. Neither boys have raced in the south but are fast learners, both are actually mainlanders. Looking forward to Timaru and seeing the brothers do v well again.

Stop talking to yourself Sam,Haha,

Yes I was very impressed with the way Sam handled the pressure and stuck to his game plan,Likewise with Andy,Had a brief conversation with Andy just before the GP yesterday regarding the illegal modifications the Hyosung riders were allowed to run with,Unfortunately as I wasn't there,I couldnt do much to help them,I did advise him to just finish the race and then lodge an official protest,Not sure whether he did or not.

Very disappointing to see the complete arrogance of the Hyosung competitors,Knowing well before they left Auckland that their machines were illegal and then arguing the point with the officials and pretending they didnt know and even more disgusting when their so called junior mentor waded into the argument and tried to condone what amounts to little more than blatant cheating.

Yip,You sure can,They have removed the sidestand bracket,Some completely,Some just parts thereof to give them more ground clearance. Tisk tisk. The rules are pretty clear on that. I'm sure there will be no issues with a protest standing up... Then again if it doesn't then the class will be tainted and I will always be disadvantaged due to the choice that I make to keep the bike road legal. And after all that is the intent of the rule for those that are unsure why it is there.

Really no different from SS150's yet people were flaunting the rules (mostly to no avail) back when I was racing in that class and nothing would usually be done. It was frustrating to say the least so I am glad that a stand has been made this time. Blatant cheating is blatant!

Anyway, this thread is to congratulate Sam on his achievements, well done Sam, go hard!!

Absolutely right Hels,The streestock class is very hard to police as there are no homologated models required,Which means we dont get supplied the specs required with homologation,That is why we made the Prolite class,Homologated models only.

Sam rode with the maturity of a seasoned veteran. Very impressive. Andrew was quick too and I hope he can afford to keep racing the Nats. Sam won without using a carbon fibre muffler too, a real poke in the eye for the cheque book cheats.:first:

Nobody that I saw. Seems that to a number of competitors an aluminium silencer skin with a cheap carbon look vinyl sticker is a carbon skinned silencer.
Maybe a bit more homework is required before people start throwing accusations.

Well as far as 250 Proddy racing "mods" go thats probably not too bad  but is there scrutineering at the National Rounds? How do they pass with these mods?

Yerr,Think you might need to ring me big fella,There was one that I saw at Manfeild and I approached them and told them it was illegal and was told they wouldnt change it as it cost over $400,Assuming they are still running it,You might want to look a little harder.

Yea and that attitude is exactly what we're trying to stop,Anything outside of the rules is unacceptable,

Dont know what MCI had in place re scrurineering,But even if they had scrutineering its for safety only and doesnt mean your machine is legal,I alerted them to the offending machines on Friday night by phone when I got wind they were planning to do the Nationals.

OK........ i was gonna keep quiet but as someone brought up the subject.
When i purchased our muffler from the US, i emailed and asked if the "carbon" version of their can was indeed carbon or alu with a carbon sleeve. They duly mailed me back to say it was a carbon cover over aluminium. So it was bought........ as i interpreted the ruling to me NO carbon in/as the constuction of can.
At manfield i was told by Billy that it had been noted / discussed about said can... and was told that the "carbon" would have to be removed.
Not agreeing with such descision....... but did as was asked. Removed outer carbon protective sleeve - and replaced with carbon "look a like" sticker .
This was checked by stewards at the weekend and they noted that there was nothing to say it couldnt be wrapped in a carbon sticker (the alu can was visable as Seths boot has worn some sticker away.
So be warned........... Mr 400 buck end can (NO CARBON) My can wasnt 400 bucks and it was the cheapest variant of all the other brushed alu/stainless cans.

So fight amoungst yourselves about who is right or wrong about carbon as a construction material or as a protective cover! Dont care......... we have a legit can that now weighs a few grams lighter (thanks to the rules).

PS......... the rearsets have been checked against a standard bike and are EXACTLY the same position to centre of peg. Vortex rearsets (Race Supplies) are one of only rearsets that allow you to position peg in original position.... they even have a help page on website to tell you which position it is.
I AM ALL FOR RULES BEING ENFORCED FOR ALL.

i voiced my questions to the relevent authorities earlier in the year about some of the wording/rulings for prolite rules. They acknowledged my thoughts and said that any changes take time........ so in the mean time bike is built to rules as they stand.

So Disco-Stu was correct about this "carbon" can.............. prehaps he should inspect the OTHER one next weekend.

What happened to Seth in all the races?

His muffler was too heavy apparently.;)

What happened to Seth in all the races?

He was busy trying to reduce weight on the ninja by throwing it down the track.... thus relieving it of any bits that stick out......... mmmmmmmmm

Seriously... got too close to Sam Croft on last lap of Race one in the dipper and planted himself face first into the tarmac - forgot about turining ignition off/on to reset tip switch (hence the oopps award) could have maybe still finished 2nd or 3rd!
Got pipped by Sam on race 2 by 0.011 so a 2nd.
Race 3 saw him attempt more weight losing tactics at infield sweeper while leading on lap one. Got back to 4th.

To make me feel better........he crashed HIS bike too in the 125 races.

Guess we had a similar run of luck at the weekend eh Choppa.

Do you know if Bryan Hill is doing all then rounds?

Not quite correct Gav,They were found by officials to be in breach of the rules and have been given til this weekend at Levels to rectify the situation or lose any points gained at Ruapuna,As I understand Daniel Mettam has done what was asked of him,Not sure about the others,Only time will tell.

The racing has been great, was pitted with Croft Racing over thew weekend. Sam is doing a good job and Andy is going well and having some great battles. Was fairly busy doing crash repairs on Tyler's KR and Andy's EX yesterday, I'm sure they didn't need to both have bent bikes at the same time. Both bikes all go for the last race :msn-wink:
