Sure, for all I have seen in my life there is fuck all difference between the States and Russia in many respects. So why not, this would fit right in.
The only difference is that there will soon be more political prisoners in the U.S. prison systems.
As far as implementing this in any civilised country (New Zealand), you can fuck right off.

Read a book called " American in the Gulag " I cant remember the name of the authour, Im sure Google will know.
I used to be part of the lock em up and throw away the key, thinking, But now I think Catch em young doing the Petty stuff and break the cycle, Yes we will always need Prisons, no they should not be 5 star hotels, I think hard work needs to be re introduced, to stop Idle hands and Idle minds, with education and rehabilitation for those who choose to do it.
There is a percentage of those behind bars who should never be released.
We are good in this country at tying ourselves up with legislation, but we have a piss poor record with education to back up the legislation.

The yanks have got nothing on other countries. Due to some unfortunately circumstances in Israel my wife was categorized as a 5 (6 are terrorists). She was a couple of minutes away from being forcibly escorted out of the country. Not bad for a stereotypical Librarian.

As far as I'm concerned the U.S. has become Israel's biggest colony. It would however be fair to add that Europe has plenty of political prisoners nowadays. Just so the Americans on KB don't feel singled out.

We need some hard prisons like that in this country. All too often of KB I see "I just had my bike stolen" threads, yet the courts are doing fuck all if the offenders are caught. Throw the cunts in jail for a very long time, and make sure the prisons are run like a prison should be, not a fucking holiday camp where prisoners are treated better than a lot of people who work hard for a living.

What fucks me off even more is the PC bullshit like the anti software piracy laws where people can be convicted of piracy without any evidence (guilty until proven innocent), yet those who bash innocent people and steal end up with free court appointed lawyers, and the police have to prove them guilty beyond a reasonable doubt (innocent until proven guilty).

I shouldn't have to worry about my bike being stolen, and I shouldn't have to chain it down in my own garage. I should be able to leave it parked out on the street, and it should be safe in my own garage. The politicians and the judges are almost as guilty as the criminals, as they are the ones who allow this kind of shit to happen.

The Asian prisons are a good start. Harsh conditions, and make the cunts suffer for a very long time.

You really haven't got a clue, have you! Perhaps you should spend some time inside. The point of a prison in a civilised democracy, is to deprive a person of their liberty - not enact a sense of misplaced vendetta on someone - you can do that outside prison - personal retribution is always sweeter.
