Cheers Steve ..Another great meeting :second:,Shame you carn't ride at your own races but your bike was very well ridden !

So, from those results, I take it Mike Kyle is the guy from Whakatane, as I recognise all the other names. He did well then, but everyone who went out riding did well.
I'm still tossing up Toke, as it'll only be me riding and the way I feel about that track, I'd rather just come down without any bike. But guess I should at least pretend I'm there for the racing and not just for the company and camping.

Oh, BTW, totally off topic (TUI), we'll go to Mazurans tomorrow to work out pricing (as in we really don't know and dispute the white stuff price, I thought $20, Henk thought more), and then let you all know, so we can do a run there and bring supplies ;) (Koba, if you're keen we can just courier it down to you as we understand you may not make the big Toke).

Dutchee here - Henk will have a spare bike back in Auckland. I am taking ONE bike with me, as I had a lot of fun unloading all three on Monday. Just about dropped 44, felt like dropping 13. And refuse to take extras along in the interim. Much easier when my mechanic isn't broken. I'll need to figure whether to take the wet or dry bike before the weekend and if I can't decide, will leave both behind and just come down for the camping.

BTW got a price list now. White Port $28, Tawny Port $36, House Port $20.50 (bought a bottle to try out). White Port is also available in big bots (1500ml) for $40. Guess what I bought lol. Henk will scan the price list and chuck it on flickr next week.

They run CBR/RS's in Aus but in the latter RS chassis, claim to be getting 30hp. God only knows how much money you have to spend to get 30hp out of a 150 4 stroke.

Pumba
13th January 2012, 20:23
Jebus Dutchie you should have yelled out and I could have shot round and helped you get those bikes out.

If you need a hand to load anything up prior to the next Mt Welly or Tok meets just yell out.

think only one CBR150 in RS chassis, the other one is in a ZZR250 chassis with RS running gear & 26/27hp. rest are CRF150r
engines in RS chassis with about same hp depending on whose telling the story & what dyno.

Things are all good, we'll be at Toke, I'll be waving flags and Michelle will ride if she can be bothered. Should be a good weekend away, shame it isn't the beauty spot that Taumarunui is but that is one out of the box. You'll love the track, it's one of my favorites.

No ...not with out major work chopping the frame about and I can't bring myself to mess with perfection..
So what do I do ???
1/Tune the arse out of the TF
2/Make the CBR handle like a RS

3/make custom frame to fit said engine (as that seems to be the flavor of the month at the moment)

New Cr85 ignition fitted and a little porting should help the TF
I have a rear shock for the CBR but will have to weld in a new mount

PM Steve, and while you are at it ask him what time kick off is on Saturday. We're planning on heading down sat morning to make managing the cat a bit easier.

Careful as you go. Remember everything is working together, changing your ignition timing will effect EGT, changing exhaust port timing may put it out of sync with the expansion chamber etc etc. Best to measure up the current setup to understand what you can work on.
Nah up the compression and polish the ports

ps saw your dyno curve some time back, it looked good for kart tracks. Im aiming for a similar curve but with better over rev.

should be OK to camp friday, not sure about Sunday, probably OK but we don't want them to think we are using it as a camping ground!! I will contact them and get an idea for you.

Cheers Steve...Port timing is very tame so just give it a nudge ...Yes the Dyno curve is ok as you say but drops off like a stone and am hoping the ignition will sort that ,lets see !!

Nah its Tokoroa weekend. Te Puke is same weekend as Seafeild Road Hillclimb(15mins from home). Seafeild Road was a blast on my Supermotard last time, so we'll see. I will be dusting off the bike for the GP, it still has the wet rear on from the last GP, havent touched it since then.

Just drill some holes part way up the barrel & connect the dots, that should get it done quicker.
