Sorry Mom but Telecom service is beyond a joke.

If you manage to get through to their level 2 operators your problem is sorted! It's just convincing tier ones that yes you unplugged everything, turned everything off and on, tried different phone jacks, tried different filters, tried other modems BLAH BLAH BLAH.

So 5 mins of bullshitting pretending to have done all that, and then tier 2 goes and resets our entire line and instantly our internet is 6x faster. BOOM!

To be fair, they are a whole lot better than they used to be say, half a decade ago. They've got on, admitted they had problems, and most normal problems are sorted in the first call, with Tier 1.

Yes, the more complex stuff takes another tier, but things are usually sorted within that one call.

I've had far worse from others...

I actually got told it was going to cost me $82 to get a technician out FFS.

In the end I used a swear word and hung up. This after about 2 hours of my life was wasted. I even arranged a call back. Within 3-5 mins apparently. Yes I got called back, then put on hold for 16 mins

I left it 24 hours and rang again. Got an english speaker and had the problem sorted in about 5 mins. Wankers!

Yeah, it seems amongst all the staff there's a couple of good'uns. But unfortunately the vast majority are useless. I might as well be calling a government department! :niceone:

Telstra Clear for the win if you are in Wellytown or Shakesville with real cable connection.
Outside of those areas you are still relying on the old copper.
I could well be wrong and will stand corrected by those more knowledgeable than I.
Been wrong twice before in my life and all it cost me was 1/2 of all my assets both times and private schooling for the lawyers 6 children.
