Dear New Zealand Police

Please take the money that I have twice donated in fairly sizable sums to your collections agents over the last two years, and put it to good use catching these degenerates. Any surplus should be enough to cover the cost of a cigar cutter to sever the little fucksticks' thieving digits.

Sincerely

b dog.

Since the government are clearly doing fuck all to stop these thieving cunts, we should set up a KB vigilante justice group. Everyone who has had a bike stolen can have 30 minutes alone with a bike thief who is handcuffed to a chair and gagged. An improvised taser and red hot steel rods will be supplied.

Why is that 'lucky'? These will be worth way more than anything brand new!

New or not new, these cheeky bastards had no right to take them. Problem is that someone that has gone into that much hassle to steel them will not want to be found in a hurry. Most probably stolen for parts or to order. But because they are so rare and unique, one would have to be an absolute idiot to ride around on them thinking they won't get cought

Seriously though, what the hell are they going to do with them? Can't sell 'em on TMe, and as the NZ market for parts of that type is so small, parts like that will really stand out.
I hope they are cought and get their fucking teeth punched in!

what scares me is where they stolen to order. Can't say the order was from a collector because that is not a collector action but one of those I have the money and I want types. Must be watching too much TV but if this is the case then they could "vanish".

I am with you on that one. A joyrider would not go into so much trouble stealing them, This is the work of someone who know what they were taking, and at worse these will end up in someones collection where one can go and look at them in the garage cause they would be too obvious to ride around in public. I just hope they are not cut up for parts or scrap metal value. (lord forbid)

Gidday Mate, hay can you spread the word with the bike shops and your various contacts regarding these bikes and the situation.
The more people looking, the better the chance of recovering these...hell, Ive even got hold of a mate at the ports down here...just in case!.

Please spread the word mate...Ron is a really nice guy and dosn't deserve this (No one does really)...but if we can all make an effort to help, we just may be able to provide a happy ending for Ron :wings:

same goes for the rest of you KB members!...spread the word and keep your eyes and ears pealed.

info from police regarding it

Title: Hamiltonm Police call on bike enthusiasts to help locate stolen antique motor cycles</SPAN>

Hamilton Police investigating the theft of three rare, antique motorbikes and two display engines believe the victim was specifically targeted by thieves and hope fellow enthusiasts will be able to help locate the items.</SPAN>

Constable Wayne Shanks of the Hamilton Law Enforcement Team said the 77-year-old victim is understandably distraught over the theft of his beloved collection of motorbikes and machinery from his City home.</SPAN>

"The thieves have gone to some effort to gain entry to the man's garage and make off with a 1928 500cc BSA motor cycle, registration number 302XX, a 1951 500cc Norton motor cycle and a 1926 350cc Harley Davidson bike that was being restored.</SPAN>

"In addition to the bikes two display engines were also taken. Aside from their historical value- collectively the collection is estimated to be worth</SPAN>
$45,000 the items hold a lot of sentimental value to the owner, one of which he had owned for sixty years."</SPAN>

Mr Shanks said he hoped others with similar interests in historic machinery would band together and keep an ear to the various grapevines for anyone trying to sell the machines or obtain spare parts for them.</SPAN>

"In such situations items like this are often specifically targeted and people will go to great lengths to hide that they have them, we're hoping that mechanics, spare parts dealers, other collectors or even scrap merchants all keep an eye- or an ear out for any information on the collection's whereabouts."</SPAN>

Anyone with any information on the theft of the motorbikes and engines, their whereabouts or knowledge of who may have been responsible is asked to contact Mr Shanks at the Hamilton Central Police Station on 07 858 6200.</SPAN>

Alternatively information can be left anonymously with Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.</SPAN>

Stolen items details</SPAN>

1x 1928 500cc BSA motor cycle; rego 302XX, black frame and guards, green petrol tank, black vinyl seat, engine no Y10191, frame no P10129, exhaust missing as was under repair.</SPAN>

1x 1951 500cc Norton motor cycle, no rego, black frame, single cylinder overhead model ES2 engine no 40361, chrome plated silver petrol tank with a black vinyl seat.</SPAN>

1x 1926 Harley Davidson 350cc 'Harley Pup' motorcycle- the smallest Harley Davidson model ever made. The motor cycle was under repair at the time of the burglary however both the frame and the engine were stolen. Khaki coloured framing, seat and tank. Guards coloured red, black and cream.</SPAN>

1x 1933 Aerial 350cc display engine, overhead valve, polished for display.</SPAN>

1x Triumph 'Tiger 70' 250cc overhead valve display engine.</SPAN>

End</SPAN>

I would love to have 30 minutes with these idiots. They would not be stealing anything any more.
I believe in some Eastern countries thieves have their right hand chopped off. For stunt like this both hands would be in order

As long as they aren't spirited off overseas, as often happens in these cases...........customs checks stuff coming in, going out, well.........

Yep, my understanding is that there is usually a reciprocating deal with another group eg. in Oz & the bikes are shipped in parts.
It is also probably on a quite a large scale, so other bikes are probably being taken by the same group.

Having said that...I was on a guitar forum where someone reported a guitar stolen...it came up on Trademe about a week later...
