I went over the Cairnmure track this afternoon looking for the DB1k riders, but I was an hour or two too early. So went back up around 6:00 pm and took these: Let me know who you are and I'll edit the post to show names.

If anyone wants a Hi Res, just let me know and I'll put it up as an attachment.

Today I went up to Poolburn Dam, sleet, rain, sun, high winds etc. But some reasonable photos as a result. Apparently there was too much snow on the tops for some and quite a few riders took the sealed option.

Hi to you I always remember an adventure riding person telling me our NordieBoy was famous amongst the adventure riding community. I guess I did not get to meet the many OTHER LEGENDS personally. Sorry for this miss. And what can we say about SHREK when we read the DB1K bike contenders from past. LEGEND. Being a newcomer to the adv community hi to alllllll L E G E N D S amongst the community. Arriving back again to Spring Creek Blenheim we once again noted the fallen sign RE EDDIE streamside. We noticed the absence of the DR over DUSTY and know he would loved to have been on this ride also.

It's Saturday, I was there from about 10:53am through to 11:27am, we've came from Waimate and on our way to Kurow, the same river that caused problems last year.
Same boulders but only half the water, still a bit tricky for some though.

Awesome to see the pics. I can say the weather at Poolburn was no where near as nice when I went through around 3.30pm on the Sunday. The snow had caught up with me again by then.

Numbers and names as best I can remember (some repeats from earlier posts sorry). I'm getting to know quite a few of you all by now but 123 is stretching things a bit for one weekend.
10 - Mountie
11 - Kenb
12 - BigGuy

18 (yellow DRZ) - Rangi

Yeah, its hard to believe its done and dusted. Still buzzing. If you could email as offered that would be great. (markpool@xtra.co.nz). Someone had stuffed up the settings on the "shared" camera i had so mine were all overexposed. A definite disadvantage of domestic socialism.

More roundy, slippery, bouldery than any of the other creeks.

Dinner plate sized flatish boulders covered in algae. Big enough to throw you off line and slippery as. If not slippery you could bounce your way through OK but even the riders on lighter bikes with lots of trail riding experience slid around on them. At least it was only about half as deep as last year.

Yea its oddly tricky, and one problem is, is that there is a similar looking creek not too much before it that is easy to cross. I got way off line and ended up heading up stream a ways before getting on line again.
