http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQXQ9Qpf4ss though lack of Japanese might prove problematic - or would it?

Makes you realise how pathetic our basic handling skills courses are.

Was going to comment "Graduates of the Katman School of Riding" but you beat me to it

Damn, that's 11 more riders more skilled than I am.

The list is up to 28 now. I thought it was just the 17 in MotoGP

I would love to have the money to bring a bunch of riders like that over here and privately fund rider training like that. Show the awesome people that make decisions what that should do to really make a difference.

How come they can ride like that but most Asians are real bunnies with 4 wheels under their arses? :shit:

Not ATTGATT either

Cheers

Typical bloody Japs. One does the circut perfectly, so all the rest have to be exactly the same.

No individuality at all.

Well as far as I can tell, in that vid, it's just one dude cloned 10 times, so I'm counting it as 18.

That was rubbish 10 minutes of fucking around and they still couldn't find the car-park exit.

Head on crash avoidance was pretty awesome, but I suppose you need to develop such skills when you spend as much time on the wrong side of the road as those guys did.

I wish I had those skills to pay the bills.

NIce skills but I did notice one had a red helmet. Possibly also long hair so may have been a female. Yep, sure puts our Basic handling skills to shame.

This reminds me to go practice my basics... And try the slalom again, as it was my weakness in my BHS.

Ten minutes of driving around a car park, that's just Sylvia park on a Saturday.

Still good skills.

OK. Maybe y'all saw something I missed but that didn't look like any sort of basic handling event to me. The size and uniform nature of the bikes and rider's gear plus the presence of the audience indicates to me that that was graduation demonstration from some sort of police or military riding school.

I've seen a number of those videos and haven't seen any sign of a police or military uniform anywhere among the audiences.

I might be wrong but I've always been under the impression that they are part of a graduation process for normal civilians completing a motorcycle riding school.

Yep, part of the basic riding skills course - graduation ceremony.
Link to site here (http://www.fushimi-tc.co.jp/) (makes more sense, well slightly, if opened in google chrome which also translates it.) Not sure what a One Dimensional motorcycle is though in the footnote.

Reckon this should be a must for training here. Note also that instructers are advertised for their high level of competition sucesses.

I have watched several of the individual competition clips and was thinking, "Yeah but you'd need a special bike."
And of course many do use purpose built bikes, eg VFR 400s & NSR250s sans fairings but with high bars

Then I found a clip of a guy doing it on a Speed Triple. :gob:

The video title says "Delta Day Parade - Driving School - professional bike motorcycle Fushimi"

Description: What appeared to show a certain national Golden Fushimi Technical Center Delta parade! This bike parade, August 19, 2009 (Wednesday) - held on the day of bike - Bike <wbr>is Palay. The spectacular parade Fushimi Technical Center instructor course!

Honestly do none of you guys have in browser translators?

That would be a bike that insists on bringing a pillion when you want a solo ride and refuses to talk about it's servicing and maintenance issues when you get back.:bleh:

Says it's a "Bike Day Parade" at a Riding school.

So it's most likely a demonstration put on by the instructors.
