I had a big weekend, I sat and passed my restricted bike licence on Friday (thanks to Andrew T of Roadsafe for the time and the bike) and attended my first track day on Sunday.. I see why some folks say it's addictive cos after getting the hang of the track and going out for my first free ride session I am well and truly hooked..
I always loved track days in my car and figured I'd love them on my bike but hell the bike was so much more exhilarating than the car  the acceleration and braking were the biggest buzz and I will definitely be doing more of them when the opportunity arises:D..
top marks to the guys at Motomart and VIC club for the organisation and to Aaron Slight and Craig Frethey for their time and advice :2thumbsup..
I was amazed at the speed of some of the more experienced/race guys and I was humbled by the comments from some of the folks I spoke to about my own riding, I will be trying to get a handle on deeper braking when I next go out.. but I will remain in the novice class or maybe the medium class for a couple more events til I feel more confident and get a handle on the etiquette of being on track amongst other riders.
Pre track day I fitted a new rear tyre to the 'Blade, did a full brake pad/fluid change as well as a full fluid/filter service.. the difference in braking was phenomenal:gob: and she ran like a charm too
As a genuine novice I was pretty excited to be out there but I was really aware of having fun as opposed to letting my ego get me into trouble. I can not recommend track days highly enough and regardless of whether you are a race fan or a road rider getting out in a safe environment where you can thrash your pride and joy to your heart's content with no fear of the flashing blues or other objects getting in your way is the place to be.
