$500 will get you a road legal one, but only just. Spend around $800 and you can get a tidy road legal model.

I bought a 7x4 briford lightweight for $1100 new[plus reg].Nothing flash, but NOT a cheap chinese POS. Owned it 10 months so far and it gets used so often-track bike to track, bucket to timaru, dirt bike to waimak-bike to mechanic....and even a few household tasks!! For me, a non dedicated bike trailer is working very well.

Was it one of those "fell off the back of a truck" kind of deals?

On a related note, anyone know where to get something along these lines?

They seem to be pretty cheap overseas but I can't see any on trademe. One NZ site does something similar but much larger, with tail lights/indicators etc but it costs $800 which is well outside my budget.

I've got a Loader tip n stow

sorry

Tip and fold

http://www.loader.co.nz/

This is an excellent bit of kit: I dont have room at home to store a standard trailer, but this thing sits up out of the way. I use a ventura wheel chock stand with it, plus I have the sides to convert it to a standard 8 x 4.

rated load is 600 or 650kg I think, so you wouldnt fill it up with demolition rubble or dirt. A well thought out, practical, useful bit of kit. I think with all the fruit and the sides it was fairly dear (like $1800 or so) but worth it IMO.
