In my time here ive enjoyed some banter with a few Guzzi owners (eh D),good spirited insults have been traded over the years and when giving/getting have often had a laugh. In the last few weeks ive on numerous occasions heard what i thought was a lovely sounding motorcycle go past my house:facepalm:a knock on my door and when opened a "gidday" today confirmed my worst fears:shit:you guessed it there is indeed a Guzzi owner living in my street:laugh:Anyways a long story short the things actually not to bad to look at...a Griso thingy in white.Seems like not a bad bugger (has some good comebacks re his motorcycles motor facing the wrong way) and drinks cheap Bourbon,so far so good:laugh:Seems we are off over the Pig Route in the morning and hes going to show me how well these Guzzis go,should be fun and hopefully i will be able to persuade him to let me ride a few ks on it,looks a very comfortable bike to ride.

Aha,..TLS,...you have been inflicted with the Guzzi virus. You will end up buying a bike that you love and hate at the same time !!

For example...Nice day on Wednesday ride to work was great.
Go to head home after work,..pull the sidestand up and it flops down again. The very under-engineered sidestand ring holding the springs had snapped off.
So temp fix of relocation of springs gets me home.

Dont hate them mate i just find them...weird,well not so much weird just cant really put my finger on it.Have to say that new bikes just dont do much for me anymore not saying there not good hell there miles better than anything ive owned i just dont get excited over em anymore. The new Guzzis however just seem to have "something about them" and yep i admit it i am a fan.My old man used to prattle on of the "character of Bevel drive Ducs of which he had a few,i fell for it and could see his point..somehow to me anyway the new Guzzis seem to feel the same way to me :facepalm:dont tell anyone i said so..lol.I also have a funny (wasnt at the time) Guzzi stand story. Was working in a bike shop years back and one quiet day took a Spada (from memory) for a ride that had just had its tank painted, called in at a mates place and hoisted it up onto centerstand and went inside only to then hear a crash, rushed outside to find the thing had rolled off the stand and come to rest lying (on the tank) on a low concrete block fence, boss was none to happy.

The difference between a bevel drive Ducati and a Guzzi is that you can tool along happily at whatever speed you like on either of them but on the Guzzi you don't have your left had covering the clutch lever waiting to the explosion.

ie Guzzis are prone to bursting into flames slightly less often

Sorry to hear fella, will give you a tinkle next time, just never thought.Working 4 on 4 off means quite often a ride on your own as everyone else is working.
