It's been up for sale before, part of James splitting up with his missus I believe.

It's not a bike park you're buying though, it's a working farm that has a side income from the bike stuff, so I'm with CR in that I hope it gets bought by someone who has an interest keepinig that side of it going.

Oh no wait, we have John Cambell asking those kind burning questions already.

That's the same year I first rode there too, and the MX track I don't think has changed since. Still a great place to go on the odd occasion. On a 91 KX80 BW..good times!

I think the MX track has changed once sine it opened. You would never get a decent return on out laying that much coin. Its only good for MX anyway grass doesn't grow to well on a course filled clay gully.

It got extended in 2008-ish (or some time around then) and last time I was out there (just before Xmas) it had been groomed up very well. The Enduro loop had obviously had some time spent on it too, was all very good out there.

Was out there last weekend and thought the place was in pretty good condition, MX track was pretty nice and the 15km loop wasnt to bad either... bog jump even had no bog!

It's a lot of land

Very few people could afford to service a $900,000 mortage, especialy if the park only makes money 6 months of the year.

price dosnt sound that bad for the amount of land and the full set up of the bike park would cost you half that most likely to set it up again guess it depends on what the farm side turns over in fact really should be able to maintain the whole place as per a normal farm the bike park should just be the icing on top.

BoristheBiter

That's very tempting.
return form the park would have to be well researched for and business plan though.

as far as iam aware there is no farm side cows & sheep dont like living on gorse! the only value in it is the resource consent in my opinion, tracks are easy to build and you can get twice the land in rodney (similar distance fro auckland) for 1/3 less.

No farm?? Wouldnt have thought just the motocross bit would have kept it going. We maybe it didnt.....

Thundercross looks to be on the up with new motocross stuff and 5k more on the A track.
