Hi everyone,
I'm out hunting for a bike and have seen a few but would like some advise on which bike is the right one.
I would appreciate any advise. The bikes are:
2009 Kawazaki ninja 250 91 000km $3900
2004 Suzuki GSX 250 24 000km $3500
2007 Kawazaki GPX 250 13 000m $3100
1991 Yamaha Zeal 250 40 000km $2200
Thanks heaps!!

All similar riding styles but out of that lot....I would go for the GPX.
The zeal is to old and the other three? well, lets face it, everyone else has them, not so much the GPX...

He wants a fair bit of money for that kwaka... I wouldnt pay 3,900 for a bike thats done 90,000km.. O.o
Out of that lot, I'd say the GPX.
But i cant say this enough, GO SIT ON THEM! You may find you dont actually like their seating style or something.. For your own comfort, Test before you buy!

at the GPX's price, Iwould also look at the ZZR250's its the same motor just different bodywork really. I'd also go for the kwacker(s)..twins are cheaper to maintain, the Zed's are not as high revving, so not as fragile as the sports 4's and the 2 cyl's will give better low to mid range power.

91000 ks on a fairly new 250.I think its more likely hes added the 1/10km on his listing as a km and its 9100 only.Would pay to find out.
30tho km per year on 250 seems alot

It is al lot!
Try 30000k in a year in a car, and you are on the road most days...
I would say it has 9100k on it too.....
IF thouhg, it was owned by GIJoe or his twin, then at least you know it was all long trips, and not just down to hte shops...
Well, might have been to the shops at the other end of the country!
The motors for these are only about $700 for a good second hand one, and everything else is readidly available, UNLIKE most of the other models listed! As the older they get the rarer the parts get (Yes, there is some comonality....
Oh, and GPX has 16" rear wheel doesn't it?? Something I would stay away from these days too....
Go for the Ninja.

Front and rear. And I think they called the GPX a Ninja aswell. But you are right of course at 9km it would be worth stretching for the R.

biggest thing to look at is the cost of disc's / pads and a set of sprockets and chains..
Had a GSX, getting parts for it are bloody hard.
currently looking at a 08 kawa for the missues..

and was due for WOF and service and he wouldn't give on the price. I had a look at the GPX and it has been dropped.
Also didn't have a petrol guage.
I eventually decided to go for the GSX, got it for $2900 in the end with WOF and Rego.
The bike runs very nice but then again I'm a newbie so don't know much about bikes.

Wow, some sort of record for the Ninja.
Sounds like you are happy with the GSX. They aren't bad, but Suzuki only brought them in for a short time. A little heavy do to the Americans complaining that they got blown all over the road, so they were beefed up to 185kg.
At the end of the day it will serve you well. Being a twin 250 as well as the others, it will last for ages... As proven by the Ninja.
