FXR150 engine jumping down gears?

Sounds exciting, I test rode a Chinese bike straight out the crate once, went up through the box and when I snicked what should have been 6th it went straight into 1st at about 80kph, luckily the chain was as crap as the rest of the bike and it snapped.

the magic gear shift that goes from road pattern to race pattern in one small movement... why change it?? save time on down changes just gear it so you dont use 5th and 6th hahah.. think of it as a restricter so the raw horsepower of the 150 doesnt throw ya!!

Yours worn dogs?thats a shocker. the fxr a have came out of a crashed bike that had only done 3000k so like new but it is a suzuki!!!

They do have a problem when they hit the ground on the gear lever they stick in that gear ...I think it's a easy fix just take the cover of and put it back in place ..could be related?

Haven't heard of Ny problems other than the over shift while crashing issue that Rick mentioned where the selector pawl mechanism gets hammered too far and won't come back, usually at that stage the shifter won't move any more so not the problem you describe. You haven't bent the selector forks through ruthless gear changes by chance?

Hamish was having similar issues with slipping between gears. I'm not sure if he ever fixed it though.

Sounds to me like the ratchet that engages the selector barell is not hooking as early as it should. Dunno about easy fixes though, they don't come out without splitting the cases on the bikes I've played with.
