Does any one know the Group of riders from Palmy that were going out to the Whanga Pub to stay tonight . As one of them came off . Ambo was heading out there when we where at the next Pub . Anybody from here ?

Not good to hear, Sensei, those guys are from our bike club - Central Districts Motorcycle Touring Club. We've both got the flu so decided not to go to Whanga this year so we don't know who it is yet.

No cellphone coverage at Whanga so we're going to text one of the guys now and hope he gets back to us when he's in range. Anyone know roughly where it happened? I see from your photos that you were at the Toko pub so it was obviously before there?

I passed them coming back from the Whanga Pub Beemer . Got to the Toko
the bar man asked if my mate was all right ? Asked what he ment & he told me one of the group that was going out there had come off .

They would have left the pub by now, so we'll hopefully catch them at National Park if they go that way out. Will post details as soon as I know them.

Just got a call from one of our other members who was at Whanga - two separate crashes, one a member who has been with the club for some time, the other a new member. Both were taken to hospital with moderate injuries - one leg and hand, the other a sore back. One bike has a hole in the sump and fairing damage, the other (new - both bike and member) is pretty much a write-off by the sound of it.

Not a good weekend by all accounts.

Definitely wasnt a good weekend for the club. I was pretty gutted to see the first crash right in front of me. And was even more gutted to have to find out via a first aider at the Whanga tavern that she was off to attend to a bike crash up the road. Never good to see your mates carted away in an ambulance.

I can report that both guys are up and about be it a bit battered and bruised.

Cheers for the reporting guys. I did see ya's heading out as we were heading in. It was good to see other bikes enjoying what is an awesome bit of road.

Oh and as for the ZX10 ... he's wondering how it will look as a naked bike!

Hey Busted think I passed you going back the other way round a right hander if you where on a Silver ZX6. I was on a Silver GSXR K3 . Pulled a nice wheelie for the guys coming in when they were coming towards me . :whistle:

Yeah Sensei that sounds about right. The silver ZX6 is mine. I do remember a silver GIXER going teh opposite way.

Mine was the only silver ZXR to make it to Whanga ... the 10 didnt do so well!
