Yamaha FZX250 Zeal 4-cylinder in-line 6-speed 250cc naked sports bike w/ 40hp in excellent condition, runs very well & starts easily. Same engine as the ultra-fast FZR250 but tuned for acceleration (road) rather than top-end speed (racing). Easy handling, zippy, nimble & agile - hits 110kph w/ just 3rd gear. Beat traffic, beat petrol price rises & have a blast!

Heaps of positive reviews on this bike & all state how desirable this bike is - it's got more of a European styling (similar to BMWs, Buells, Ducatis, MotoGuzzis or Triumphs), while maintaining the same affordable Japanese reliability. Beautiful twin 4-into-2 chrome exhausts w/ a very sweet race note! For more photos, view them at the Trade Me listing (http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/motorbikes/motorbikes/sports/auction-447882806.htm). I will offer KBers a lower price than that advertised on TM.

A powerful 40hp 250cc bike - Fast, strong, stable, & reliable. Front & rear disc brakes for superb stopping power. You can get about 250-290km per 14l tank full of petrol. Fairly cheap on insurance. Has very good grunt for the city or motorway - cruises at 120kph easily even w/ my 110kgs weight [best known top speed 140kph]. You can putt along gentlely in the lower rpms in town although this bike is more racehorse than workhorse, so it can rip the open road up at above mid-range rpms - really rockets along once you hit 7,500 rpm or higher. Red line is 15,000 rpm so this baby puts out some serious power!

The very comfortable seat is low at 735mm, good for shorter riders to reach the ground - helps w/ stability in strong winds too. Ergonomic upright sitting posture, it's gentle on your back & wrists, plus provides excellent visibility. I've added some padding into the seat as my weight plus the age of the original seat foam has made it a bit flat. But if you're a shorter rider, I can remove the extra foam if needed.

Always well-cared for, always garaged. Had full service not long ago by previous owner [usually worth at least $800], carbs were pronounced very good/balanced. Has very few minor scratches and rust spots, otherwise in excellent shape. Inspections welcomed. PM, email (mailto:tigadee@yahoo.com?subject=Yamaha Zeal on KiwiBiker) or text me (mob 021 0275 1858). Selling because changing to a cruiser so I can stretch my legs, and boss says one bike or the other must go.

A very desirable bike. Examples in good condition are getting rarer. This one's priced high, but if it's as mint as claimed, it's probably worth it.

(not sure why the thread header says 'Engine type: V-Twin')
