Couple Questions

Im taking wife down South for couple of weeks.

A- I suspect back tire will last half trip only so whick bike shop down in Dunedin has good deals and looks after your rims well.

B-I have trip planned for Picton through to ChCh (visit friends)then ChCh to Dunedin(Visit friends)but I have a 5 day window of travel from Dunedin back to ChCh to fill in.Im thinking maybe Alexander,Cromwell, Hamner Springs and a side trip along pig route .Any other Ideas.

Queenstown ,Wanaka,West Coast i have done lots of times so im avoiding.Waitaki valley is a possibility.

Wifes happy with 400-500km per day we did a 1100km day once and it didnt impress her alot.

Be aware i will be towing trailer so dont have me on dirt roads LOL

we arnt taking tents this trip we will do Motels(no cabins) in the 4 nights but $130 per night kind not expensive ones.

The Catlins is now FULLY sealed. A loop ... or just down as far as you feel like and back. The Balclutha (watchout for mr Scumdog) - Clinton - Mataura -Edendale - Fortrose route down (all sealed) is a good down/return route.

MCR are here ...

Its a little further down from the Harley shop. In walking distance ... if time needs killing ...

The Pig Root and the McKenzie country beckons ... Mt Cook and the Waitaki valley good side trips.

If its windy in Dunedin ... Avoid Middlemarch ... It will be worse there ...

Ok cool its next door to Sammys ,I know where that is.

Waitaki valley would work well I lived in Oamaru long time ago I could go inland come back down pig root.Stay Oamaru maybe Armada inn if it still has pool and spa then back up Waitaki Valley next day inland again.

Not good I google walked up the streat to the nudy bar and it looks closed now so I google walked back down to Princes St and half way to the Octagon it Google rained and the road was instantly wet.Cant trust the weather down South

A bowling alley in Oamaru thats going to be a winner.I guess they have nothing better to do than play with their balls.

if you get to the wharf at Lake Manapouri before midday i think it is you can catch the boat across to the power station and do the tour.
Think the boat trips about 45mins each way and the tour about 2 hours. Not sure of the cost sorry
Then stay the night at Te Anau just up the road and do the Milford Sound the next day.....back to Queenstown for the night then through Haast up the west coast and get yourself to the shop at Arthurs Pass for a great pie then there is a few different routes to get you back to Picton.
Good luck,most jealous
