Yeah! Excellent.
I could understand - and forgive his daughter being disrespectful at home: that is what teenagers do. Eventually they gain maturity and come out of the snarky stage.
However posting a nasty attack online? Nah, thats way over the boundaries of acceptable rebellion. Ok so maybe she isn't drugged up and being the town bike but then most other kids aren't either.
This dad was patient, clearly angry but rational, and he elected a dramatic reply to her public disrespect of her family.

I hate that, oh I had it so much harder than you did shit, true as it may well be, it solves absolutely nothing and usually has the completely opposite affect... having said that, heh, better than shootin the kid I suppose... I put our kids "toys" in the bin and make sure that they're watching when I do it.

A fairly radical solution which may come back to bite him badly but ultimately it's his home and his rules.
The old "When I was your age..." thing seems never seems to get the message through. Cue the Four Yorkshiremen sketch from Monty Python....

Obviously feeling the anger and frustration that most parents of teenagers feel from time. Love to be a fly on the wall when Hannah found out. Guess she won't be living there much longer.

Sounded like he's in Texas. He's more likely to get in trouble for not using a shotgun to do the job properly.

Being Texas, a lot of those computer shooters will be called Wayne
In the early 1990s that "Wayne" was a popular middle name among a few of the most heinous murderers of our time, e.g., the clown John Wayne Gacy (who killed almost three dozen boys and young men in the late 1970s and buried most of them beneath the floorboards of his Des Plaines, Ill., home) and Elmer Wayne Henley (sentenced to six consecutive life terms in 1974 in Houston for his role, with ringleader Dean Allen Corll, in the murders of 27 young men). I began to publish periodic lists in 1996, and soon readers made sure I never missed a one that made the news.
This is a mighty impressive (so to speak) group, and below is an alpha listing.
But first, several disclaimers:
(1) Theoretically, a few of these people are probably innocent (or, if not "innocent," then at least the charges have been dropped). At the first instant that I find out about such a person on my list, I wipe him off and publish a correction in the weekly News of the Weird column. But, rest easy: The vast majority of these men, no matter how much they protest, are in fact murderers.
(2) I have been too unmotivated to update the list in other respects. Most notably, there should be more names (i.e., some have been withheld because they were mere "suspects," but many of those were subsequently arrested, not to mention convicted), and there should be more, well, dead people on the list, if you get my drift. (I have only designated the executions that I know about.)
(3) My list is only of murderers (or those charged with murder). Manslaughter is not enough. Other violent crimes are not enough. And it's only of middle-name Waynes who have been in the news; I have not pored over penitentiary rosters to get the old-timer Waynes.
(4) Before anyone asks me, I will answer: No, I have no idea whether the number of middle-named Wayne murderers is statistically significant. I suspect that aggressive-personality fathers during the 1950s and 1960s did in fact hopefully and disproportionately name their boys after that era's icon of ruggedness, John Wayne. Beyond that, I dare not venture.

If they own the land that the water is on, then they own the water imho... and as I've said before I'd rather it was in the hands of Maori than whitey.
They can go down to the beach and claim it with their hands all they want.
If they get enough of them they might fill a bucket.
Fact of the matter is that the ocean is its own beast, anyone who thinks otherwise should spend some time on the rocks to find out how sand is made.

The thing that cracks me up is that Tommy Jordan knows his daughter better than Dr Phil, yet instantly Dr Phil has decided that she's a troubled child... and I'm disappointed that he didn't even mention the kids hormones or period and that he trundled out the escalation theory and even had the balls to throw in some child molestation for good measure. Bad Dr, bad bad Dr. I bet she shout at Dad once a month?, but great to see that she's over it as it shows that she's not a moronic teen as Dr Phil suggests.

Has no-one picked up on mild autism (fragileX) in Tommys family??? Hannahs prolly worse as current lifestyles breed kids with a stronger expression of ASD than the parent
What a bunch of useless 'tards.... "Dr Phil" meh
I'm beginning to realise that many quacks are either fucking useless, have political agendas that prohibit them from helping clients, or they just dont give a fuck

fragileX? and here I was thinking it was redneck church syndrome. Although I more agree with Tommy than Dr Phil, at 15 she should understand consequences and her action show she did.

This highlights something I read some time ago regarding careers: Keep your personal opinions/grievances about your job, boss, colleagues to yourself and offline.
If you ever post something negative online (comment/note, email, blog, video), it's gonna come back (and it will boomerang much faster and easier) and bite you on the arse... HARD!
Prospective employers are savvy enough now to look you up on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc., and anything negative you say about your current or past work place, workmates and employers will be noted and work against you.
I agree with Dr Phil that teens aren't able to foresee the consequences to their actions... FAR ENOUGH. They know what they are doing and how it wil affect others to a limit, they just can't envision beyond their own personal experiences and world-view how far-reaching and badly their actions could affect others or haunt them. That's why I disagree with my wife that the kids are too young for this or that responsibility or expectation. Even if they are not capable to meeting those responsibilities or expectations (and I allow for that), at least they are aware of them, understand the need for them and anticipate them.
Much like motorbiking, the more experience and mentoring you receive, the more you can envision and anticipate when the shit hits the fan and prevent it or else how to deal with it. Growing up is like that, and most teens have not the exposure and experience to know their limits and the consquences when they push beyond their limits.
I now repeat to my kids what one of my professors told me in Uni: "You think this is tough? This is the school of soft knocks. Out there... That's the school of hard knocks. If you don't make it work here, you're gonna be in for a tougher time out there in the real world."
